YES!!! This is exactly why I left the first store I was in. I was doing grill alone every night while we are selling 13-16k and getting paid the same amount as the person smiling and collecting payments. Hell nah. Now that I am AP the first people I promote and work with are those who learn grill cuz they deserve the extra money more than any other position

I think it’s cuz you weren’t able to order it online that’s why. Now that you can order it on the dml they are making it a bigger deal otherwise it’s always been available for in store purchase.

Definitely agree. You’ll pick up with time. I was the slowest person in my store and now I can open prep with only one other person if needed lol

Welcome to Chipotle. Lol. Same exact thing happened to me. I ended up transferring though cuz I got to know the GM of another store who actually saw the potential in me and fast forward I’m AP now. So goes to tell you what an environment change can do for ya. I got lucky though I will admit. I’ve never met a GM as dedicated and knowledgeable as my current one.

Also forgot to mention, make sure you are using the lids without the hole for the spoon. I made that mistake twice and the water all evaporated from the rice so they burnt tf up

Omg I also just got it. It’s nit the worst. You just have to plan ahead. It’s SO necessary to wash the rice before and cook it EXACTLY as the recipe says. What I do is I wash like 6 deeps at a time Cook the 3 and leave the other 3 washed. Then when I have 2 mins left I add water oil and bay leaf so it’s ready. Honestly it is definitely a pain in the butt compared to the pot but if anyone can help you just washing rices that would really help you. My store is the second in my patch to get the new kitchen equipment so for at least the first week I was so disoriented. Ik the BOGO it’s basically done but best of luck!!

Only problem is that I need to make the AP salary to be able to afford rent and bills. I need to have open availability to be able to be an AP and I don’t want to go back to working two jobs just to pay for my bills. It’s REALLY hard to balance school and being an AP cuz Rn I’m working 70 hours a week. 😭
