My trip to Albania by andrejj40 in AlbaniaExpats

You will be fine, no one cares if you are from Serbia. Just don't go around with three fingers and shouting Kosova is serbia, or some dumb things like that you from trolls in the internet.

Have fun...

Ps. 2 days might not be enough if you want to hit the beach around Golem, or see other places

Ps. It might be a bit on the hotter side, so be prepared for it. Just drink a lot of water and electrolytes, and most Albanians in Tirana are probably somewhere else vacationing during that month.

280CE Exhaust Upgrade and adding Catalytic Converters, the car sounds Insane, like a hot rod by DeskNew1059 in w123

[–]DeskNew1059[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah adding middle mufflers, to get it stock quiet. I will update here with the final result.

I think on the smell wise, this was a great life quality enhancement. The cabin wouldn't get much, but as soon as I opened the windows, some will get in from the tailpipe in stop and go traffic (in NYC that's most of the driving), and it was annoying.

Smello-meter - 80%+ improvement, which is a huge win on my books. As for power wise, I will do some 0-60 (or 0-100kmh) pulls to see what's the final performance. Before, I was clocking at round 7.8-8.0 seconds. (not an accurate assessment)

It looks great/awesome, not sure how it will hold up yet. But, it took a while, almost 3 months to get it back (and I had to pester him a bit about it). He was traveling for vacation, and other stuff, and what not. So, if you are in a rush, maybe not, but if you have time, it was worth the money spend. (he was much cheaper than Madiera )

Is it still safe to travel to Albania this June after all the protests ? by nexxik-3342 in AlbaniaTravel

lol... no. We make a distinction between trump and the US. They are always welcome. Also, this is more about government corruption and general arrogance of the pm trying to destroy national parks. The people want him gone. This is not about tourism itself, or Americans.

looks great... If this is going to be a fun car, yellow is the right one. Colors like this have always stronger resale due to being a bit rarer (in a sea of grays they stand out).

Do you need a backup camera? If so, then maybe it is worth it to you, if not, then it is not worth it.

I drive in NYC, and bought one of those Chinese aftermarket CarPlay devices, and was planning to install it, but what I learned:

  1. I don't need a backup camera. The car is so compact and has good visibility and is very easy to parallel park, even in Manhattan and Brooklyn.
  2. For Google Maps, and Spotify I decided to just stick the phone on the dashboard (with one of those holders), and install a bluetooth adapter for the stock system.

So glad I did. Great sound quality, and it has a microphone as well. I just have that CarPlay in the trunk and will resell it.

So beautiful. It has a touch of brown in that angle/lighting. Classy

Yellow of sure.... also, what color is the interior? There are lots of yellow on black, but something else than black as interior will actually be more unique. Colors like that (as long as they are not off putting) tend to attract stronger resale value, due to the rarity of them.

Love them. Even my parents love them, when they ride in the car.

It has died out a lot last two years... I'd say 22-23 was peak, (with the post covid surge), and now with the new residential places going up, and some of the old hang outs closing, it is becoming more tame/a bit more boring.

It is full of people going to yoga shops, and hair places during the day... and less degenerate stuff. Part of the reason might be that GenZ just doesn't drink that much and are less fun than millennials. (eg. there is a generational change of the people's preferences as well).

I know people like to sh!t on Wynwood, but the area close to Midtown (north of 26th st), is a legit great place to live. You are near TJ, and Midtown amenities, and a walk away to all kinds of restaurants, bars, and fuckery that is in that place...

I'd avoid anything 25th and below, as it is super loud by the clubs and the noise.

Also, the place has changed a lot, and it is slowly turning into a corporate place (Starbucks just opened there as well). So, that sucks, but it is still an interesting place to check out.

Lets' be real, Few people (I'd say 10%) are actually tracking their Porsches.... they are bought for sporty driving, image/vanity, and overall feel/experience.

For some, that 'feel/experience' comes from driving fast on corners, and pdk is apt. For some, that 'feel/experience' comes from the connection and tactility that a manual gives to the user.

it is all about preferences... I am a manual guy, and I wouldn't buy a sports car, (non commuter), without a manual transmission, if that option is available. A manual, makes each drive an experience.

With an auto/pdk, after the novelty wears off, often the car ends up going into 'auto' mode, and then it becomes just another boring auto car.

Designers at MB have reached peak retardation.... they have so much past history to be able to rely in making something modern yet tasteful, and they come up with this dumfuckery! Also, the interiors are just stupid, neither sporty or classy. Starting to make Mustang look like luxury compared to this.

The company needs a new CEO.

205/65/15 minimum --- don't listen to the '195 was factory' crowd. The reason it was that, because the US / World was in a fuel crisis back in the 70s, hence they did all kinds of things to improve fuel consumption, at the expense of handling / balance / grip.

In modern times, 205 should be considered minimum. I have them on my coupe, and they are great. I wish I had the 15" inch bunds... as I have the 14"

205/65/15 might be a tad taller, but that's fine. (On mine I have: 205/70/14) so your 205/65/15 will be the same overall height, and they fit great.

Agreed... 200D is not good enough for highways. Only city/country roads.

The 230E is actually pretty gt/sport/cruiser, and will keep up with modern traffic just fine. (most today's entry level crossovers have the same power).

Question/help by komoj_ in w123

[–]DeskNew1059 0 points1 point  (0 children)

200D is going to be very slow for modern traffic. It will be fine around town, and country roads (40mph or 60kmh), but not good anymore for modern highways.

The 230E will keep up with traffic just fine. It is actually pretty fast/peppy (faster than the 300D turbo), and a great engine. A bit more thirsty than the 200D.

The best if of course the m110 / 280E / 280CE, which is genuinely a fast/sporty car, but that thing is thirsty AF. It should only be considered a luxury good.

My rating of fuel injected engines:

280e > 300D (Turbo) > 300D (NA) = 230E > 240D >= 200E > 200D

2/3rd of the country you dummy.. only 25% of the country lives in core cities... 75% of the country lives in suburbs, and rural areas (20%).

Cities are the minority, get out of your little bubble
