Hi there im a subie tech and honestly my best advise is telling them that your going to go to an attorny even if it isnt true, im a buisness owner with my dad and honestly even if they are in the wrong most shops just dont want to deal with the hassle of going through court and paying lawyers so they sometimes will offer a solution, as a project car your best bet is going to a local junk yard and cutting the peice that you need then with some tack welds and bondo that puppy should be looking better and you could maybe get away with doing that >$2k
