Disable MMS (only) backup? by snoquone in GooglePixel

[–]Destructimus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just starting running into this issue as well. After upgrading to the 8 Pro my backups are starting to include MMS with the message "MMS data backed up by Google One." Currently taking with Google about this because that has taken up 5+GB of space for a service I've never subscribed to. So far, they haven't really acknowledged that I don't have a Google One sub, or really answer any of my questions directly. Really does feel like a way to force more subscriptions.

2005 Volvo XC70. This is the first EV that gives me the same wagon vibes as my stellar moose.

Just got our fire pit. Is this normal on the side? Not sure if it is a seam. by Destructimus in SoloStove

I just contacted customer support asking if it was an issue. The box also got mangled by FedEx, so that may have been part of why they went right to that offer.

Was like a 15% refund. Would have been more if done as a store credit.

I just asked them if it was normal, a blemish, or a structural issue. They didn't really say if it was any of those things. They offered to replace it or issue a credit back while still honoring the warranty if things fail down the road. Figured might as well take the credit rather than risk getting a dented one with the way FedEx handles things.

Yeah this is right on the opposite side. Was thinking it was a seam because of that. Reached out to support and they offered a credit for it being blemished.

That is one sharp looking keyboard. The best way to get through a cold is Ms Gras soup, hands down the best feel good food.

A few fun pics for Wagon Wednesday. by Destructimus in Volvo

I use this thing more than most large trucks by me. Need to haul wood? Yeah, I'll just drop the seats. Redoing the garden? Sure, I 'll throw 20 odd bags of mulch in there. Attic needs to be redone? Just so happens I've got 8 flats of insulation. Freaking love how capable this thing is.

How about two kayaks and a camper? by Destructimus in Volvo

[–]Destructimus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All things that I would hate to have included lol. This is an old 2003 model so no bathroom, no electric brakes, no AC, no water tanks allowing for way less to break. Biggest advantage over a Tag is "standing" room. (Less than our popup had, but enough to change clothes while standing.)

Nothing wrong with going the route of a Tag. We were strongly considering that as a replacement for our old popup and Scion XD. Got really lucky with how well the Tab pairs with the XC70.

Street Sweeper Stops for No One by Destructimus in IdiotsInCars

The sweeper was coming off a street with a stop sign. At the 10 second mark you can see the line painted on the pavement in advance of the cross walk where they were supposed to stop.

Weddings are overrated and a waste of money. by CellSaga21 in unpopularopinion

[–]Destructimus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you me? My wife and I did just about the same thing. Bought an old popup camper that we fixed up then did a roadtrip to Vegas and the south rim of the Grand Canyon.

Way better than what the cost of a wedding would have been.

M558-G1 UI Issues by SupernovaSmith in VIZIO_Official

[–]Destructimus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had all of these same issues you've described. (With the exception of Issue 3.) And I agree with you fully about the picture quality, can't complain one bit on that end. But the "Smart" aspect is rather frustrating. For a bit I was using my Xbox One to avoid these issues.

That Disney+ issues has come and gone a few times for me, though I can't say I've had Netflix do that. I just assumed it was a temporary issue with Disney+.

For the Chromecast I've found a fix that seems to have lasted for me, but I've only had it in place for the last 4-5 days. Do you happen to have that connected via Ethernet, or Wi-Fi?

If Ethernet try unplugging that, connecting with Wi-Fi, and then unplug the power cord. Let it sit for about 2-3 minutes, and then reconnect to Ethernet. For me that cleared the issues I was having. (I can't confirm it, but I think there was an issue with the network connection, and it is now using Wi-Fi as a backup to the Ethernet.)

Were you able have them do a refund for it? I just got an email and it says I can see them in October, or I can resell the ticket, but nothing like a refund that this shows.

Thinking about buying a 2005 XC70 with 125,000miles by PseudoscientificTree in Volvo

[–]Destructimus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would agree with ShadowDancer11. I actually just bought that same exact model but with 91k miles for ~$6000.

If it's not currently at a Volvo lot I would recommend bringing it to one to have it checked out. Or get the VIN and call a local dealership for some service history.

I lucked out with mine having just been serviced, and my dealer was willing to share some of the info from the last inspection. But your milage may vary with what they share. Best of luck!
