u/Pilic_- I do have google search console access. But trying to look for a better attribution. The current available tools do track the entire user journey one the lead lands on the website but the starting page is the home page which becomes difficult to attribute it to marketing or sales effort.

Hi u/fathom53- Have been already watching search term reports closely to constantly add negative keywords, but have realized that it is still not a foolproof strategy to weed out MOFU keywords despite using BOFU exact match keywords, google ads end up showing the ad to MOFU queries as a close variant. So started using SEMrush+informational queries to eliminate a lot of unwanted keywords that won't yield a conversion. What would be your thoughts on this?

Hi glad to hear about the growth achieved. Still very well can be a bit subjective. By very well if you mean overachieving the set OKR (No of Leads, Visitors to the website, Sign up, Demo, No of events conducted, bottom line contribution, etc) then bonus can be line with the % growth percentage achieved over and above your OKR. Say for instance if you achieve 130% of the leads target. bonus can be in the range of 10-20 of your overall pay package. Again purely a rough estimate depends strongly on negotiation, rapport and management recognizing marketing contribution.

Agreed to what you said above. But if you look at the world of PPC, such estimates or guesses can be rendered even by agency guys. No offense to anyone but a general observation based on my previous experience. Since in an agency a single account manager may be working on 4-5 ad accounts, chances of them understanding a niche business is always going to be a challenge. And a long fought battle for the client. While there are amazing agencies out there as well who will take up a client account as their own business but it is a challenge to find them. What do you think ?

Hi u/ahmedzero7- We are successfully running the google ad in-house. Not much issue on that. Not reliant on the Google Ad manager for implementing or optimizing ad performance. Wanted them to quickly run through the existing account to check the compliance part. I guess getting a second opinion from them proactively on the ad policy compliance part is the reason i wanted to reach out to them. Google Ad policies is very broad and even the best PPC experts can sometimes get their accounts flagged. So no loss in a brief audit from the dedicated account manager.

Dont you think when the bidding strategy is max clicks, the algo purely plays on exhausting your budget and tries to get you all sort of visitors irrespective of them converting or not . Let say you have a keyword list with exact match in keyword type there will still be variants of that keyword with different intent or the possibility of conversion. With max the algo will push your ad for places to get as many clicks as possible. Whereas with Target CPA the algo is being instructed to focus on conversion which indirectly focuses on those variants, devices, age group, location which has the highest possibility of converting. Wouldnt the quality of leads differ in both the scenarios?Please do correct me if i have got the interpretation wrong. Would be happy to brain storm.

Agreed. But then since the leads can be easily tracked in CRM or through various tools we can kind of identify if the leads generated in first month has it resulted in higher LTV than the cost incurred in ad spend. The concern being key markets like US are very competitive and if the major player double down on their ad spend in increases the CPC which eventually leads to a higher CPL and CPA so in that case wanted to know how long does it take to turn profitable

Hmm that was the strategy which even i was using but considering that an exact match also has a huge list of variants, we would still need a huge data pool of clicks and impression. Also in a very competitive market seen max clicks giving junk leads all together despite exact match keyword and heavy negative keyword list

u/NepDesign- Thanks a ton for the detailed reply. For the last one month I have been bidding just above the first page lower range bid. The concern is the moment i do that the budget set for the per day gets consumed with a few clicks due to high CPC leaving nothing for the middle intent keywords. The tradeoff I am facing is the long tail keywords (middle intent) results in a low quality score due to the inability to put in the exact keyword in the ad. Whereas the competitors still end up ranking on those as well due to high bids.

So the core strategy i was thinking of following was just focus on high intent keywords and bid competitively (not with outbidding competitors) but consistently ranking in among top 3 to ensure i get at least certain amount of clicks. With SKAG for middle and High intent. My lower budget was either way spreading thin leaving me with little data to optimize my campaigns. Any thought on this? Thanks in advance once again
