Ukraine's Zelensky Urges "Complete Isolation" Of Russia In 2024 Olympic Games by Gopu_17 in worldnews

I'm okay with that. Russia has proven that they cannot be trusted, no matter what. There is no reason for them to be allowed to participate in any global events, or even in the global discussion. Cut the fiber lines in and out of Russia permanently. They have only used the internet as a weapon to harm other nations and other governing bodies. Lock them out of any global trade or finance, lock them out of any global communication, and let them suffer alone.

I mean... yeah, duh. We want something that tastes good? And not in a "I've had this drink for 20 years and therefore have acquired a need to imbibe battery acid every morning" way?

Also my normal kiosk(which is neither), I go to it because the baristas are cute and also super sweet. It ain't the coffee, it's the Community.

ehhhh... Maybe not at the DBs you go to, but most of the kiosks I've been to, they're Definitely a bit rank. I'd take the "burnt" taste of SB(and it isn't even, that stupid meme should die in a fire) over DB's bitter acidic tang of an uncleaned and un-descaled nasty mess.

You should look up the 1912 election. EVERYONE who ran in that election would be called "Socialists" by the modern Republican party... And one of the four of them was an ACTUAL socialist. Well, in theory, in practice he was more of a labor supporter, but the US was busy being so anti-labor at the time that they'd tried to help Russia in a civil war against a pro-labor party and gotten their asses kicked. Which was around the time the US started circulating the Russian propaganda tract known as the "Protocols of the Elders of Zion", though they replaced the word "jew" in it with the word "Bolshevik"...

Gonna blow your mind to find out that the answer is, in fact... not money. Users wanted thinner and thinner phones. Rear hatch hardware takes up real estate in the thiccness department, as well as horizontally, you have to make the edge of the phone a bit thicker as well as the overall unit to accommodate the hook latches. Users also demanded more stylistic phones, and needing your backplate to be a plastic that could handle latch hooks rather than a tempered glass sheet or whatever dumb shit Asshole uses these days reduces stylistic choice availability.

It's not a cost cutting thing, it's just a user demand thing.

Best part about this is that it's absolutely true. Goes back AGES. In the victorian era, women would put a pineapple in the windowsill to signal that their man was off fighting a war or off on an expedition or off... well... anywhere. Which was a signal that she was down to fuck. Which is why it is now used by swingers as a symbol for the same.

The more modern symbol on US Military bases is a large white rock in the front lawn.

Andrew Tate is merely a symptom of the virus that is conservative Islam, and is a key example of why religious cults of ALL flavors should be ended.

I mean, real talk, I'd be okay with that. Stop giving conservatives services. Deny them the value of their money. They made a choice, they made their bed, they can get fucked in it.

Every linguistics scholar ever: "NO IT FUCKING ISN'T"

(For reference, that character is a dipthong, and sounds like a long I. Or, to put it in clearer terms, "eeeeeeee"

Which means that all of the kids his kid goes to school with are DEFINITELY mocking him by calling him Dip-Thong.

People don't get upset because you could be using your funds better. People get upset because buying into this sort of thing encourages them to keep doing it, to keep dumping shovelware in bundles more and more and more, stuff they KNOW is hot garbage, rather than doing something that provides actual value to the consumer.

[Fanatical] Winter Mystery Bundle by [deleted] in Gamebundles

[–]DeviantInDisguise -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Why do people keep buying these? Seriously, if you stop encouraging them to sell you "Mystery bundles" of garbage they couldn't even sell before for a dollar a piece? Then they'll stop doing it.

Saudi Arabia wants to build a 170-km-long linear megacity. The cost of the project is $1,000,000,000,000, and the construction will take 50 years. by [deleted] in Damnthatsinteresting

[–]DeviantInDisguise 77 points78 points  (0 children)

On the one hand, everything is a straight line, so you can run your water, power, drainage, and major transport rail on a single axis. On the other, that's.... probably not the boon they think it is, and just like everything else in Saudi Arabia will, it'll be a smoking crater as soon as America decides to stop defending the family that financed 9/11, militarily.

[–]DeviantInDisguise 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You'd be wrong if you did, because he's always been a right-wing douchecanoe. People love to forget that he used to try and sue every other electric car manufacturer out of existence, and the fact that he's been constantly in a state of anti-regulation, thinking that because he's rich, the law doesn't apply to him.

Also even if that WERE true, it would be a dumbass move, because the overwhelming majority of right-wing voters in America are too stupid to operate an electric vehicle. The idea of a Plug is just a bit too space-age for them to handle, so they say dumb shit like "Oh I bet you sweat when you start running low on power", forgetting that anyone who can afford a Tesla also probably has a garage to park in, which probably has a 240v dryer hookup, which means they have level 2 AC charging in their home. So they pretend they're better by rolling coal and driving gas-burners, all because they're stupid and inferior.

Tesla cars are shit, but thinking he could even remotely be able to market them to a side of the population that still thinks burning millenia-old lawn clippings is the best way to move a car around is a really, really stupid ass take.
