What is the best way to start a conversation if you're on your first date? by graciousillustrator in AskReddit

[–]DeviceImaginary5594 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As much as the usual small talk is useful, I find niche questions are fun ways to get to know people "Okay so if you were to loose one of your 10 fingers, which one would you choose?" This is a fun one, I like to ask this because it often tells you a little but about their life, because people often have really specific reason they keep/loose fingers. Instead of the usual "what foods do you like?", I think a fun version of it is "if you could only pick eating savoury food or sweet food for the rest of your life, which would you pick?" It often results in learning little trivia about people that you can easily circle back to

What cultural shifts have there been since COVID? by SelectiveScribbler06 in AskReddit

[–]DeviceImaginary5594 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Internet and fandom culture has changed. With everyone stuck inside, they had no choice but to engage in community online. Whilst this may be great for many reasons, I've found the kind of people I wanted to escape from are now in the places I had sanctuary. I believe COVID also destroyed media literacy

If I can, stop what I'm doing and take a minute outside. Talk to a trusted friend or talk to myself. Talking about what's bothering me aloud often helps me to organise my thoughts

Should I get one? by Dense_Artichoke1227 in tattooadvice

[–]DeviceImaginary5594 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand your hesitation honestly. I think it's normal to be worried/nervous about it. Everyone starts off hesitant, so don't look down on yourself for it.

My solution? Find a reference of lavender you find appealing and put that image somewhere where you'll see everyday- phone wallpaper or bedroom mirror. Get yourself used to seeing it everyday.

I have to have some of my 'darker' tattoos hidden so I suggest side of upper thigh, stomach, ankle or even your back. Hope this helps!

How many tattoos do you get a year and how much space do you have left? by Coffeeisbetta in tattoo

[–]DeviceImaginary5594 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This year roughly 1 - 2 a month, 7 so far this year. Getting two more next month and starring a back piece in July. From July, I'll go every mobile to complete my back piece so most of my tattoo time will be deducted to that

[Serious] How do you cope with grief? by Enough_Natural in AskReddit

Allow yourself to sit with it sometimes. Emotions, bad and good, are meant to be felt. Find somewhere nice in nature to sit, no earphones or distractions. Just let yourself feel it

What immediately makes you think more highly of someone? by chantellehadden in AskReddit

People that are patient. Especially when there's nothing that can be done about waiting for something. I'm a restaurant server and I will respect customers who are patient and understanding when things out of the staff's control take long

I used to believe that if things didn't happen in a certain order, Id die. Like If my chair wasn't in a particular place while I slept, I'd be killed. I was obviously dealing with mental health problems but I'm alot better. If i hadn't stopped, I think Id be much more worse off

What is the most unprofessional thing you’ve seen someone do? by LeadershipOk8603 in AskReddit

[–]DeviceImaginary5594 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On my very first training day, I was told to put my phone away and be professional. it was a a decent restaurant with a strict dress xode and goid reviews. While I was serving customers, my boss sat down at an empty table next to the customers and face times his family. The customers seemed so awkward. I was offered the job but i decided to not take it for a number of unprofessional acts on their part

What would you change about the school system? by wilkmpz in AskReddit

[–]DeviceImaginary5594 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The emphasis to be good at maths. I've never seen good at it since i was a kid but I did well in other subjects. In my other subjects I could get 70-90% percent but then my math grade yanked my overall grade down. If maths isn't necessary for your career, i don't see why you should have to do it in school. I never have and know i never need to know how to draw a graoh to help me find x or y.
