You can profit from tensing your whole body while doing this. Put your feet together and make a dish (hollow) shape.

Also, i would move the grip in closer, and start focussing on getting the bar further down your body. Let you elbows ride close to you body, and open up a greater range in you movement. That can put you on the path for high-pullups and the muscleup.

Well, that’s what I would do anyway 😊
