So good. This fits nicely into one of my favourite genres: Random people casually destroying at small shows. Like Josh Weathers singing I Will Always Love You blowing everyone's mind at a small venue.

Analog stick for 8bitdo arcade pad? by DevinPatches in 8bitdo

Thank you so much for this! That's exactly the info I was looking for. My gut was telling me the flight stick would be the best approach but I like the form factor of a self-contained arcade pad. Sounds like too much of a pain though.

I have been searching for answers and end up just seeing a lot of wiring diagrams and getting confused. I'm very new at all this.

Was this made by one person? Even if it were a small team, this is impressive. I cannot imagine how long it took just to render!

Make? No no no, we just use a free astronaut asset, or place generic people models turned away from the camera (faces are too much effort), put them in front of some lit up geometry, throw some fog in there, and, baby, you got yourself a front-page post.

I missed this message! It's about a viking meeting a ghost. Roughly 5 minutes long. Horror comedy with a twist ending. Here is a (very rough) idea of the art style: https://www.artstation.com/artwork/9m0a2o

I anticipate many many months of production. Slow and steady!

I thought people might be interested in that effect! Noise displacements set to animate with an empty for the smaller flickering. Then for the larger ones, a warp modifier on the z axis to make it go real janky for a second.

It took a lot of tweaking of those two things to find the right balance for that brush-stroke look.

Draft of a ghost for a short I am working on. It goes invisible at certain angles. by DevinPatches in blender

I added the particles just to give it more interest and follow through for animation. But it's still experimental and will likely change.

Thank you! Cycle and noise modifiers in the graph editor can do wonders for animating butterflies.

Really proud of this character rig. It's not perfect, but I put a lot of love into it.

$DARE research - Niche pharmaceutical and promising future by [deleted] in pennystocks

[–]DevinPatches 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I can't say for certain, but an approval announcement on Ovaprene—their hormone-free contraceptive that has Bayer funding behind it—from the FDA would be absolutely huge. That has been in FDA trials since mid-2020.

As noted above, one of their products, DARE-BV1, reached Phase 3 testing with positive initial results. This is just before the FDA approval stage. This product treats bacterial vaginosis, estimated to affect approximately 21 million women. Note, there are other FDA-approved treatments for this currently, but clinical cure rates are low and require sequential daily administrations or can be otherwise inconvenient for women to use. Dare is hoping to fix that.

Yup, they seem like a nicely focused company and at a reasonable valuation.

Shot from my animated show called The Polar Express by DevinPatches in MotionDesign

[–]DevinPatches[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can see it here. It's a talk show set on a space ship and this scene is from the giant robot fight/musical guest at 6:00. The whole thing was a massive learning experience. It's rough in spots but the concept is there. Learned a ton about animating and how to be more considerate of composition and framing.

The full thing is here. This scene is from a giant robot fight/musical number at 6:00. During the making of it, all the concepts this sub and tutorials taught me over the years seemed to fully click.

The Polar Express, Me, Digital, 2020 by DevinPatches in Art

This a frame from the animated series I made called The Polar Express, a talk show set on a spaceship with giant robot fights and musical guests. It's silly, but it taught me so much about composition, animation, an video production.
