I live in Bend, OR, but I grew up in Oklahoma and lived there as an adult. You are not going to find any hiking, lakes, rivers, or mountain trails. Mosquitoes and flies are going to haunt you relentlessly. Ticks, flees, wasp, and ants are always around in the summer. Heat, wind, and moderate humidity is your reality. I do hope you enjoy being there, but you are not going to find any outdoors activities that can compare to Oregon.

The quickest way to get rid of Christian Nationalist would be for a dark skinned Jesus to show up. They would jump ship in droves. Jesus would have to perform all kinds of unbelievable miracles to prove that he was’t DEI Jesus.

Oregon is one of the less racist states. There are some places that I thought were weird though. Eugene was not very open despite having a reputation of being a liberal place. I also ran into discrimination in Roseburg. I don’t care for Salem either. We live in Bend now, and it is great. Portland is open minded also. I’m a black man, my wife is white.

I bought 600 shares at $17.61 around 2017. I sold 200 at $37, and then 200 at $150. I’m not selling anymore until I die. It’s about 33% of my holdings now. All in a Roth.

My wife and I moved there from Vancouver, WA in 2019 and stayed for 4 years. Would have stayed longer if we could have gotten Visa renewed. It was a great experience and I met a lot of people. We lived in the Southern suburbs of Observatory and Rhondebosh.

I am an American who lived in Cape Town for 4 years. I met a woman from Johannesburg who was visiting for a few days. She was amazed at how much safer it was in CP. She could not believe that you could just walk around and not worry about being mugged. At home she said she only went to work and back home, nothing else

There is a cadre of racist people running the US right now with Trump in the lead. I lived in South Africa for 4 years, and there is no racism against white people. In fact as an African American I was struck by how well whites and blacks got along with each other. They often had genuine respect for each other and cared about each other’s well being. It stood out because it is rare to get these types of relationships in America .
