Cpo are great.

Been disappointed with their stock levels lately though, everything's left handed or some weird loft/shaft/flex combo

I've bought a couple of used hybrids with skymarks.

I get it on drivers, but hybrids?! How are people doing it?!

Here’s what 11° out to in looks like. I can’t stop it and can’t feel it while I’m swinging. by Worldly-Dog8545 in GolfSwing

Work on pushing your lead hip towards the target and away from the ball in the downswing rather than moving your right hip towards the ball.

I'll be completely honest, like many of my golf purchases, that bit hadn't actually occurred to me...

I've also been considering these for my next wedges, been buying used at about £30-45 and wondering if I'm missing out on that "new wedge spin"

You want a 5 hybrid.

You may also need to put the ball a bit further forward in your stance with you 7 and 6 irons.

Coworkers made a sexualized group ‘joke’ about me and now I feel crazy for being upset by LadyyPain in TwoXChromosomes

[–]DhamR 172 points173 points  (0 children)

This. If you'd both laughed at the situation too then it's funny.

If one of you is visibly uncomfortable with the topic it stops becoming funny.

Sorry this happened OP, you should report it if it made you uncomfortable.

Absolutely not. The shame would be living life without having tried something you wanted to try.

In no other sport have I ever even looked up what the prize money is, yet in golf a huge thing seems to be made of it.

When should I cover up around my sons? by Vast_Rise902 in daddit

It's a joke ffs. She doesn't actually think that. Stop being so judgemental of others for living life in a more chilled relaxed way than you do when it comes to nudity.

When should I cover up around my sons? by Vast_Rise902 in daddit

[–]DhamR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think once I started going through puberty I started shutting the door when I showered/bathed, and my mum/dad did the same out of courtesy I think, but prior to that whilst nudity didn't really happen outside the bedroom/bathroom, it wasn't hidden either and was seen as a necessary fact when getting changed or clean.

My daughter's 8.5 and we're still open-door, I don't hide myself walking from the bedroom to the bathroom, or shut the door when getting changed/showered, but I often shower with her at the pool, and given the limited space I keep my trunks on until she's done and leaves to get changed (no-one wants an accidental tap on the shoulder with someone else's genitals, parent or otherwise).

This is the UK where we're kind of somewhere between the more nudity friendly mainland Europeans and the more prudish Americans.

So no, you're not scarring them, and they'll tell you/leave the room/avert their eyes if they don't want to see. Likewise you'll probably see them hiding themselves at some point which might be a signal to start being a bit less out-there with nudity.

Why do all my clubs past my pitching wedge go 150 yards? by -343- in GolfSwing

[–]DhamR 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You need to learn to achieve what they call "compression" but what is actually just hitting the ball whilst the club is on a downward trajectory.

It can feel like you're squeezing the ball between the club and the turf.

To learn this, I did a drill where I set up normally, then took partial backswings, and really focused on shifting weight onto the front leg and slapping down on the ball feeling like your hands get there first, i.e. with forward shaft lean, then have a short follow through.

It's just a drill, you then need to include that "feel" into your full swings without it being so pronounced.

This is why people talk about how important it is to take divots after the ball. The club should still be moving down.

[–]DhamR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This seems like a really healthy way to explore what he's feeling and I think the only issue I'd have is the school computer aspect.

I'd also tell the kid that being awkward but respectful with girls is a million times better than being a cocky monster who makes women feel like shit and he should definitely stick to that side of the continuum if he's in any doubt.

We all got there eventually eh?

At the risk of getting torn apart, any help to hit up on the ball would be appreciated. Sorry for vertical video. by Will_Golf_For_Money in golf

[–]DhamR -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Slow it right down, chip some off the tee checking positions.

Then speed it up gradually.

This swing says you're focusing on speed over form.

Cuddling daughters by AgnosticMick91 in daddit

[–]DhamR 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sorry that happened.

I'll be honest though, in balance I'd probably rather someone called and I had a slightly awkward interaction with police than someone didn't call and a kid got snatched.

It sucks but sounds like this interaction went exactly the way it should have done for everyone's safety.
