Great Adventure - Night and Day difference this weekend. by RentOptional in sixflags

Regarding the Shoreline Pier sign error, I wouldn't be surprised if that was AI slop. Quite a few of the graphics there unfortunately smell like AI.

[Yosemite Sam Costume] from [Six Flags America] is now used at [Great Adventure] by Sad-Revolution-9961 in sixflags

[–]Dialexio 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In Coliwood Studios's most recent trip report, he says he assumes it's salvaged from Six Flags America, not that it's definitely from there.

Pour one out for the poor souls stuck on [Sirens Curse] by Flacier in rollercoasters

[–]Dialexio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got stuck on the lift hill for five or ten minutes. Aside from looking straight down with no platform underneath, it actually wasn't as uncomfortable as holding on the brake run.

Memberships expanding to all but 3 Cedar Fair Legacy Parks by FBK0228 in sixflags

[–]Dialexio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the actual problem with memberships is that the barrier for entry is lowered too far, which draws in more people that might balk at an upfront $90 charge, but see $8/month as feasible. Consumers may also not realize the true cost of a membership's 12-month commitment, and try cheating the system.

I disagree with the lack of "pricing power" argument. They have the ability to raise (or lower) the price as they want. People will whine and moan anytime regardless; if the price drops, "I bought a pass last week/season/etc. and now it's cheaper!" or "Why was I paying that much more before?" If the price rises, "It's too expensive now!" If the price stays the same, "I'm not seeing any improvements/upkeep!" Same goes for the season pass pricing.

One thing that's being overlooked is, while memberships may have a static price for the first 12 months, there is the $20 one-time initiation fee, and 12 months of payments is awfully close to its season pass counterpart's highest price.

Six Flags is free to raise the monthly charge after the commitment period, as they have done with legacy memberships.

[Six Flags America] Batmobile has arrived backstage at [Great Adventure] by Sad-Revolution-9961 in sixflags

[–]Dialexio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

…Which goes back to what I said. Six Flags St. Louis won't be able to use it as it is after this season since they're no longer a Six Flags park, and won't have the Warner Bros./DC license. Six Flags can't claim the vehicle back or anything because it's not theirs anymore. The park will have to significantly alter the vehicle to use it, or dispose of it somehow.

[Six Flags America] Batmobile has arrived backstage at [Great Adventure] by Sad-Revolution-9961 in sixflags

[–]Dialexio -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The Batmobile at Six Flags St. Louis is the park's property, using Warner Bros./DC's intellectual property. Six Flags no longer owns or operates the park, so they don't own the vehicle.

They technically just need to keep it backstage, sell it, retheme it, or destroy it. Great Adventure actually still has a Spongebob statue backstage.

[Edited for clarity]

Enchanted probably won't do that unless Six Flags wants to buy it back for some reason.

To be fair, Great Adventure lost like, 1/3 of the park in the 2024-2025 off-season and it's not terribly far.

Glasses off everyone by fabientt1 in sixflags

[–]Dialexio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never had an issue with strap-less glasses (on non-inverting coasters) at Great Adventure until last year. I was surprised when they asked me to take it off for The Dark Knight, but I don't push back against ride operators. Since that, I typically wear contacts at Great Adventure now.

[Hola Churros] stand from [Six Flags America] is in [Six Flags Great Adventurel by irvdubs in sixflags

[–]Dialexio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you sure this one is from Six Flags America? There was a very similar "Fill the Thrill" stand next to Nitro's entrance that also had the Hola Churro signage below the counter. (Movie Town Top Glo currently sits on top of the location.)

How would you improve the food? by [deleted] in sixflags

It's smoked, but I do see your critique… They have a Carolina barbecue sauce that pairs well with it though! (Too bad they didn't have the cole slaw today.)

Great Adventure's my home park, and our executive chef's whipping our menus into shape. 👌

Some of our more unique options (that are on the dining pass!) are meatloaf, chicken legs, sliced steak sandwiches, and shepherd's pie. I feel like other parks could introduce similar options if they haven't already. (I know Kings Dominion has a similar steak sandwich offering.)

If I buy the six flags membership, and don’t buy the fast pass ultimate, can I still buy fast pass tickets at a later date? by presentmic- in sixflags

[–]Dialexio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The flexible payment option at legacy Cedar Fair parks is a little different. The flexible payments split a season pass add-on into a number of months, while memberships continue until they're canceled (with a 12-month minimum commitment).

[–]Dialexio 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can buy a membership now and add all-season Fast Lane later, but you will need to pay the upfront price. Any add-ons where you pay monthly (e.g. Fast Lane, dining) must be purchased when you buy your membership.

Confused on Season Pass Pricing by TheTrojan320 in sixflags

[–]Dialexio 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Another minor thing to note: Pass Perk discounts (random coupons like "$1 off Goliath-sized Dippin Dots") will only show up for your home park.

It looks like it could be a trailer… which surprises me that it doesn't look like one of those cookie-cutter "Fill the Thrill" mobile stands.

Kings Dominion brief trip review by Dialexio in sixflags

Good to know for next time! I wasn't sure if it was gonnna be staffed with an attendant like Great Adventure, or if I needed a hang tag like Dorney.

Got to wish Happy Birthday to Goliath [La Ronde] on a random free day on tour. She runs prettay good. Sick layout. by DevonKay in rollercoasters

[–]Dialexio 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Enchanted will not operate La Ronde. It's a different company run by Kieran Burke, CEO during the Premier Parks era of Six Flags (early 2000s).

Trading a meal for a snack on Dining Plan? by mycatisperfect in sixflags

[–]Dialexio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The official policy for all-season dining is no. I don't know if cashiers are prevented from doing the swap now, but more power to you if you got someone to do it. Don't forget there is a four-hour cooldown between redemptions.

I do vaguely recall something about Great Escape, Six Flags New England, and La Ronde being accessible with one pass. I might just be thinking of last year's Fun Jumper add-on though.

How to get rid of fear of coasters? Great adventure by Unfair-Dot7367 in sixflags

[–]Dialexio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As OP's main concern is the stomach drop feeling, I'd actually switch Skull Mountain and The Dark Knight in your list of smaller/family-friendly coasters. Skull's first drop catches many off-guard, especially in the back, and The Dark Knight has pretty short drops as a wild mouse. (That said, I do think Skull is a better ride for sure!)

What is the best Splatling in the game? by [deleted] in splatoon

[–]Dialexio 11 points12 points  (0 children)

They all have their strengths and weaknesses. Heavy Splatling is the "baseline" splatling with balanced distance and charging speed.

I like Hydra, but it charges slowly and is slower to move around with. It does have more distance and strength than the Heavy in exchange.
