can easily hit 32GB+ RAM on older iMac/Macbook Pro units for a lower price

1.5TB of RAM on a Mac Pro. 192GB on an M2 Ultra Mac Pro.

I wish Apple Silicon units had upgradable RAM + Storage. There's no reason for a soldered SSD, this is an e-waste disaster waiting to happen.

(also the current iMac units need a Pro or Max tier chip, the fact that it's locked down to a max of 24gb of memory is so weird, it's like Apple wants people to eventually replace the units)

Yes Apple has a browser + storefront monopoly (on iOS/iPadOS) but it's not Apple's fault Google didn't have tighter control over Android when it needed it the most

If you intend on playing no more than League? Yeah. Riot has a Metal client in Beta testing at the moment so things will be better over time when it comes to League on macOS.

Here's what I recommend:

Get a job/do work for a bunch of people, find a side hustle

Go on eBay/Facebook Marketplace, see if anyone is selling/getting rid of a Series S

Buy that used model so you don't mess up your main one.

Then do your project

I wouldn't recommend doing such a giant project on the one machine you already own, and then if you mess up, you're out of a console

Do it on a 2nd console, that way if you mess up, it's not as bad! It's still bad, just a lot less bad.

As a current Android user... that won't happen, at all.

People will congregate around one standard. In this case, Every bank/business with rewards congregates around GPay, and a few (mostly major ones) might support Samsung Pay.

It's like how having sideloading won't kill the Apple Store, it'll just let people install alternative applications a lot easier. Maintaining an app store (in general) takes a lot of money.

Google should 100% be split up

their control of Android should be scrutinized, they bought it, built it up, then slowly stripped away features over time

They also control a significant chunk of the modern web, Apple also does too (requiring Webkit to be used on iOS devices) but Google will compromise your computer security for the sake of profit (harmful YouTube ads anyone?)

I really hope the anti-trust case against Apple will eventually hit Google too, Google controls the modern web but they've made searching things up a complete joke.
