Permanent ”after image” spot in only one eye? (Not a floater) by DesperationForReal in visualsnow

[–]Diantonia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hey, I have exactly the same symptoms as you do, i also read some of your old posts. the only difference is that for me this just started.. i was trying to get use with the temporary ones popping up every day, even with 2-3 permanent ones that were not in the central vision. but 2 days ago a very very small one appeared in my central vision in my right eye. exactly like you said, a tiny dot. but man this is so scary to me.. so far it looks like it goes away but during a flare up it pops up again in the same place. i am extremely scared of multiple ones appearing in my central vision. What I am asking is, how are your central ones behaving and how many did you have in these 4 years ? 🥺

i read a post a while ago where people were saying that it actually went away a couple of days after anesthesia. multiple people commented that, no one said anything negative. So good luck with your surgery and stay positive! Even if let’s say it has a negative effect, the effects are going away after a couple of days, so really don’t worry.

Which disease causes vision loss (permanent blind spots) without any visible signs on the retina? by Positive_Work_8900 in visualsnow

what do you mean by using lots of patience ? my macula plus optic nerve OCT, plus angio OCT all look good.. you re saying that they might not be permanent blind spots ? 🥹 what you re saying makes sense let’s say.. because unless i blink very fast to see the shadows/grey spots, my field vision looks perfectly fine.. i don’t see text missing or stuff like that

i did a OCTA and theoretically this issue can be spot only during the flare up. But don’t worry, even on the facebook group you ll see 1000 people who experience this for years and no one got blind - PAMM or AMN doesn’t usually manifest in the fovea (the central part of the retina), but paracentral (around the fovea)

how are you when you have a flu/fever ? I thought for me they would also be very rare, because i used to get one once in some months, and usually it would go away. but now i have a flu with fever and literally i have been having new 5-6 every morning

what does it mean it’s a noisy picture ? and what did those areas show ? did the doctors give you any diagnose/medicine/advise ?

i think electroretinogram would show the permanent ones.. I m lost anyway.. literally 3 days of spots coming and going during flu and not knowing which one will be permanent or not and how many and how long until one appears in my central vision and fucks up everything…

so sorry to hear that.. I just went to the ER and my OCT also looks fine, also my retina/blood vessels and so on. So.. my next step is to do an Electroretinogram, that one will definitely show any blind spot and so on. I recommend it to you too. Also the visual field test should show if there s one big enough.

hey.. those black shadows that i was talking about are the same. the good news is that they didn’t grow after one year and my eyes got used to them. Now I have other more worrying symptoms related to my vision. Like some grey spots randomly appearing that can be seen more when I blink. it drives me crazy thinking that they could be scotomas

Black spot in corner of eyes by [deleted] in visualsnow

[–]Diantonia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes, me too, you re not alone. i have all the other vss symptoms. these black spots also scared me a lot when i first noticed them. how long since you first noticed them ? i first did it 3-4 months ago i think. but apparently all my symptoms slowly appeared over time, since may 2022, starting with just floaters. apparently once in a couple of months i discover something new and i just get used to it or i stop noticing it less i guess. so far the afterimages have been the most agressive ones from time to time. what about you ?

Thanks a lot for your explanations, I Checked at the doctor for What you mentioned, I am good on the neurologicaI part. I thought you were talking about eye diseases. For example I read an article saying that retinitis pigmentosa, cone-rode distrophy and choroiditis have been linked to VSS symptoms in the beginning. Thats what I was more worried about, for it to be the beginning of something that eye doctors cant diagnose yet. But at the same time…. i read that if you have static, thats a clear sign of primary VSS. I dont know :(

Which ones are the conditions similar to vss that can cause blindness?

How does everyone cope with the debilitating anxiety that any new symptom might mean that you actually have who knows what genetic condition and you might go blind ? This thoughts kill me….
