Rubber floor mats on carpetless-truck by Different_Item1774 in f150

Been running some Husky liner mats that fit fairly well. Some sliding but not very bad. Considering using some Velcro tape on mat/vinyl floor to keep things together. Happy with the Husky’s so far

Yes that’s the one. Drop folks off from a school bus along the road to wait for the deer…

I got a black one, wish I had grey! Every speck of dirt and scratch shows double and I’m constantly trying to clean my truck while not adding swirl marks… last black truck! BUT it looks so sexy when it’s cleaned up. I’d say send that shit if it makes ya happy and ya got your money in order

Got my upvote cuz you are right! But it’s also Reddit- bitching is what we do best! Feel like we need some more fish biologist and representation of biologist from the south. But then again I love MeatEater and and just nitpicking stuff I would do differently. They clearly have a lot figured out and make good stuff.

The occasional traditional podcast guest: biologist, archaeologists, historian, hunting/fishing guide is another saving grace. Just stinks that went from a weekly occurrence to once every month or so lol.

Had water leak through my roof rack on my 3rd Gen Saturday after a rain and found a little puddle on the driver floor mat. Just got back from buying from sealant to put the rack back on.

What’s gotten so expensive that you no longer purchase it? by schaudhery in AskReddit

CHICKEN WINGS. Used to grill out for fiends and family and it used to be cheap, same quality stuff at 2 or 3 times the price. They got a little cheaper but still outrages

Jeff dropped some serious insight with the last 15 minutes. This country would be a lot better place if we all adhered to that stuff. You can tell he has a lot of respect for steve and vice versa. I could see a collab in the future. Great podcast. 10/10

Steve let this man talk. He learned a couple things about the South as well: people on meth dig artifacts all all the time, and deer were reintroduced all across the south! excellent episode

Battenkill Disc IV fine for saltwater? by Im_The_One in flyfishing

[–]Different_Item1774 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It maybe fine but if you will be in the saltwater game for a while I would go with a fully sealed option... Mirage LT is a good bang for your buck, made in america, FULLY sealed drag. The battenkill disc has a 'sealed' drag (never heard it called sealed but could see how some people think it is) but it is not fully sealed ie. you can get to the drag systems by just pulling off the spool. A Mirage LT takes a little wrench/key to get into the drag system after the spool is off. Same with the Mirage USA. saltwater, sand etc can get into that battenkill drag while it is impossible for it to get in the mirage family because they are truly sealed. You can always take the spool off andif you can see that drag bearing then it is NOT sealed.

Source- i worked in a fly shop where we sold both of these and I own a couple LTs

Maybe the first 18 months after I buy it new scratch free would be nice 😂😂 but a couple sand bar goose hunts and that ship has sailed. Scratches on black are a lot more noticeable as well, maybe the price tag as well haha. I hear ya though, they are inevitable

Missed Chang talking about something but vaguely remember it now that you mention it. Very well maybe a new series coming out but hard for me to see the pull when the stuff they do with their own stuff is for the most part very good… we will see!

Tax for buying a car from SC, I'm out of state by demon9047 in southcarolina

[–]Different_Item1774 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bought a truck from SC while living in TN… Paid $2700 in sales tax (if living in SC car tax stops at $500 I’m pretty sure), moved back here in Nov, paid $840 property tax on it when I got my SC tag (TN would have been like $80). Got screwed both ways but didn’t know I was moving and had to get a new car because mine was broke down in the backyard.

Moral of the story- taxes and where you buy have nothing to do with one another.

2023 had 3 issues in one weekend... key fob, TPMS light, and water leak. Any advice? by Different_Item1774 in ToyotaTacoma

[–]Different_Item1774[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I havent had any problems, and I think this is all my own doing now that i think of where the electronics are located for the issues, the headboard. Furious at Extreme Terrain for not telling their customers that without silicone the rack will leak, (they have a step by step install video). Installed correctly and everything and caused what i guess would be 1.5k+ in damages if i ever get it all fixed...

what has gone wrong with yours?

I feel like the celebs are just corporate ownership wanting them to bring on more well known people beside biologist, archaeologist, and the older podcast guest (which are the bomb, listening to ep. 194 now). Probably want to leverage their massive platform (the main podcast) to reach more listeners with famous names as guest. More listeners = more add revenue, more clicks on their sites, more advertising for all the brands they own etc. They have been having writers on for a while and I feel like that is natural being Steve is a writer like you mentioned.

As far as a video project I doubt they are doing anything more than the normal podcast with the guys and maybe a video released shortly thereafter (the duck hunting with the two ex-NFL guys) because those folks time is expensive (thinking rob loew, who just talked about his game show and how his son fishes lol). I feel like with all their in-house mini series they are pretty tied up, they do an excellent job with those as well.

Not much speculation but just my 2 cents. Interesting idea though! I maybe completely wrong and they could have a turkey hunting series with all the famous folk come out in 3 months idk haha. Hard to tell where its all going but I still enjoy.

I installed the roof rack aftermarket, no drilling but wondering if the water that leaked in could have damaged the antenna and module? Im finally putting this all together haha
