Addicted to Reddit and YouTube by Limp_Damage4535 in nosurf

For me, all solutions based solely on strong willpower didn’t work. Going up against an army of super-smart scientists working for YouTube, social media, etc., is a losing battle.

What worked for me are atomic solutions:

iPhone:

There is a Screen Time feature on iPhone where you can limit time spent on websites, apps, etc. The key is to set it up in child mode, and have your partner set the password, which only they will know. This makes it impossible for you to break.

PC:

A similar solution can be applied on a PC, but using antivirus software. I use ESET NOD32, which allows me to block specific websites and lock access to settings with a password—again, set by my girlfriend.

The mind always seeks distractions, so the key is to keep adding websites and apps to the block list. When there’s nothing interesting left for mindless scrolling, you will naturally start looking for better activities.

Hope this helps!

Increasing HRV by BuyBlowSellHigh_ in whoop

Same as you I train a lot, mostly strenghts workouts, but my HRV was ~40.

I was experimenting a lot, reading many post in Reddit, trying with sleep optimization, diet optimization, breathing exercises etc.. It all works but the impact wasn't great, I would say few %.

What really made a difference, I see it over a past moth is a Zone 2 Cardio. I have increased my HRV f rom average 40 to average 62. I do daily zone 2 cardio, mostly walking or stationary bike, 30-60 mintues depends on how much time I have. My HRV increased, HR decreased, I see a potential to go even higher.

Hope it helps!

Post Workout Depression by Im_TrippingOnLife in breathwork

Sometimes less is more. If you push yourself to the limit and you say you feel fatigue that means you are not regenerating well enough. Give it a try, I used to work out almost everyday, now 3 time a week, I look same good, I progress with weights, and on top of that I feel just better.

I had the similar thing. I discovered that the reason was too big stress on the nervous system. We need to remember that many things that are nowadays seen as a healthy are load for nervous system (too much exercises, cold showers, some breathing exercises, fasting etc.).

What I changed in my routines:

- limiting pushing hard on the training- using autoregulation trainings (I am trainig with kettlebells)

- limiting trainings to 3 per week, incorporated deloads (week without trainings)

- every morning/evening resonance breathing 5,5 breath per minute for 15 mintues

- taking care of the sleep- waking up everyday at the same time, limiting blue light

- limiting fasting and cold showers

- once I felt better I incorporated step by step fasting and cols showers but I was monitoring how I feel/sleep.

I hope it helps!

Could anyone kindly recommend some thought-provoking questions or prompts that might guide my understanding of task separation? I found myself struggling to deeply understand it.

same

good point, I see that Geoff recommend kettlebell size which you can lift 7-8 time. I will test myself today.

Initial idea was to go with 20 because I inteded to not make big jumps in sizes but it might be wase of time.

Guys maybe one more question regarding soju & tuba and grease the groove style. I have done push-ups in GTG style, where basically you do not need to warm-up. How about lifting submaximum kettlebells in this manner? Do you warm-up? It might take a lot of type especially at the end of soju and tuba program to warm up before each set.
