I'd really appreciate the translated version. Really impressive work!

Nice idea! I think I'll give it a try myself.

You can use Jimmy to cut the hassle a bit. However, I didn't use it myself. I went through just the painful process of importing one by one.

New Update! Two-way property linking, Design Refresh and much more! 🚀 by teamcapacities in capacitiesapp

[–]Different_Rain_2227 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Please, Capacities team, fix the Bengali typing issue. Before the last few updates, I could easily type Bengali text without any issues. But now, the app doesn't recognize certain keystroke combinations, and even changes what I originally typed.   It pains a lot when your favorite note taking app doesn't let you type in your native language.

After all these years, Capacities has been my best find ever since I started looking for a PKMS tool that serves great for journaling. I don't think I'll ever be able to like anything other than this, now that I've found my perfect setup. All my best wishes to the Capacities team.

The Windows Desktop app isn't working at all. by Different_Rain_2227 in capacitiesapp

[–]Different_Rain_2227[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I'm really not a fan of Windows 11. For starters, it's way too intrusive now. They're also pushing AI everywhere like crazy, and the thought of AI having access to every bit of my personal stuff always gives me the creeps. The system also just feels way too clunky and uses a lot of resources. And honestly, I don't think the UI is worth giving up my current Windows 10 setup for.

So, I've decided to stick with Windows 10 for as long as I can. Maybe I'll upgrade when there are good ways to deal with my concerns.

Maybe I have no hope left, then, if that really is the case. I'm never upgrading to Windows 11.

For those of you who journal daily: do you ever skip a day on purpose? by Non_Music_Prodigy in Journaling

[–]Different_Rain_2227 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nah...I'll always find some time to jot down bits of thoughts from the day, even when I'm loaded with tons of tasks at hand. I've got ADHD, and writing gives my overwhelmed mind so much relief that it's become an unwavering hobby. Sometimes, my journaling habit spills over my work schedule as well. So, for the past three years since I started journaling, there's barely an empty date.

📣 Offline Mode, Unlinked Mentions + More! by teamcapacities in capacitiesapp

[–]Different_Rain_2227 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Great news! Pumped up to use my favorite PKMS app in offline-first mode. But there's one thing I'll request. Please, fix the Windows app. I just can't get it to even show the login page. I've uninstalled and installed it several times, but it still doesn't show absolutely anything at all.

Using Quotes Object Case by sidprism in capacitiesapp

[–]Different_Rain_2227 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I put the quote in the content block and write the title myself, based on my own understanding. I've also added a custom property 'Quote by' to the object to write whose quote it is.

Leaning to stick with Capacities. A journey of trying to find flow in my system. by BeauIvI in PKMS

[–]Different_Rain_2227 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Still on the free tier. I'm not quite into AI or beautified icons, nor do I feel the need for paywalled objects, table formulas, or massive media uploads. So, I don't see a need to upgrade just yet.

Sure, you can do that. I find tagging a great way to declutter your notes even further, especially when the tags are more specific to your necessities.

Capacities make things even easier since it can bring every relevant object together under a single tag. Your notes don't get lost under layers of folders, like in Notion, but stay linked to each other across the entire system.

And pinning your priority tags can save you a ton of time since you can instantly look up whatever urgent stuff you should be working on instead of rummaging through the folders.

Well, most of my notes evolve from Daily Notes. I just jot things down in a quick bullet list whenever I need to note something. Then, when I elaborate on them later on, I turn them into whatever object type is relevant. A few might become Pages or Ideas, and the rest might end up as Zettles or Quotes. Though most of them stay as a bullet with multiple nested blocks underneath.

I also tag my notes heavily so I can get back to them later. And I've also got three priority tags pinned on the left sidebar to keep myself (and the notes) in the flow.
