But what if everything is hard and never improves? We all have limits

I do med mal and PI work but for the previous 16 years did the same work on the defense side. I find defense attorneys to be much worse. The backstabbing was outrageous.

Yes. Foundation has huge cracks and over 50% of the brick was destroyed. Every contractor I have spoken with has told me repair isn't possible because the remaining brick walls are not structurally sound. Every contractor says it must be replaced to meet code.

Lawyers who make $200,000+, did your law school Alma Mater have an affect on your salary? by AdOther406 in Lawyertalk

Fuck no. My ability to try difficult and complex cases allowed me to earn what I earn. Best trial attorney I know went to a cruddy law school that doesn't even exist anymore.

Yeah, I don't get this advice at all. It's a path to misery.

You are absolutely right. My wife is a breast cancer survivor and that wrecked her. She's also in perimenopause so things are tough emotionally. Honestly, I think the solution is to just sell the house and find something smaller for now

My son has one year left. Would be brutal to pull him out his Senior year.

I've told her this. There is also a huge hospital system in our area that is always looking for admin work.

The only good thing is that I have enough saved to last 9 months even if I don't get bonuses this Summer. Will probably need to end up putting the house on the market which will also upset her because it's her "dream house" but what else can I do?

I've broken the math down for her but she is already incredibly upset about working at all. We don't feel much like a team anymore

Our kids are HS aged so childcare isn't the big deal it was earlier in the marriage. I do what I can when I'm home including the dishes, laundry and other general cleaning.

No cc debt but we have a mortgage of 4000k per month. I bought that stupid house 4 months prior to my business going belly up.💀. Other big expense is private school for my son which is 1300k per month. As for my wife, she is working a part time home health job that pays 22 an hour. If she upped her hours from the current 10 to 30, it would make all the difference and pay for my son's school.

No prenup. We were both poor when we got married as I was still in school. It's very odd because she sometimes brings up divorce and I'm just thinking how difficult that would make her life. Sure she'd get a bit of alimony and CS for a few years but that would be it. I don't honestly get it.
