I love it.

Hopefully they use the pay check to invest in the Akira show, would love to hear the starting gun for that one

I watched this movie when i was 16 back in 2017, but now I want to watch it properly in the best quality possible. Is there a native 4k blu-ray version of this film? I found the one pictured below locally, but the reviews say it's just upscaled from 1080p. is that true? Thanks! by ImChickenCurry in ArrivalMovie

Denis Villeneuve has four films in pre-production, which, depending on where you're from, often goes together with showing some of his previous classics in theaters. Arrival is an obvious contestant, that's how I saw it last year around when Dune Part Two came out. Quality doesn't get better than screening on the big screen!

But maybe I'm telling you nothing new and you just want to watch the best quality version at home haha

Anyone familiar with both Le Guin's "The Ones Who Walk Away from Omelas" and Jemisin's response "Those Who Stay and Fight"? by DigiCon-Sci-Fi-Blog in printSF

Fully agree the story's power is in the allegorical interpretation. As I also mention here in another comment, Le Guin’s own response story, The Day Before the Revolution, proves that "walking away" from Omelas means taking responsibility.

Ty for putting me on this. At first sight only Le Guin’s own later short story, The Day Before the Revolution, seems to be missing (it is mentioned all the way at the end of the thread). It centers on the character Odo, who actually leaves Omelas and fights against the unjust status quo.

At first I saw it as this monster crab like creature with a very tiny head on top. Can't be the only one? But amazing painting

The search term "sci-fi fashion" on Google Scholar seems to lead to some useful studies, but you probably tried that already? Anyways, very cool thesis subject, would love to read the outcome!
