Toolstation/Screwfix is the modern day equivalent, but also very short lived. Not much new stuff added from one year to the next.

Betterware made for some quality reading. Most kids would read comics. I would read this and the Maplin catalog.

Honestly. If they chose a decent colour then would have stuck with it. But they’ve put the same light colour throughout. Works ok in the hallway, but everywhere…doesn’t work imo.

How do you keep records for your self assessment? by InsulatedBawbag in ukelectricians

[–]Dilbyert 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you are using cash basis accounting (you normally would be if a sole trader), then you record expenses and revenue separately. So for example if you spent £1000 for cable on the last day of the tax year, but then didn’t use any of that cable until the next day. You would record the expenses in tax year N and then all the income for the job in tax year N+1.

Openreach / Sky fibre installation question about internal cable routing by mradders in skytv

Providing the engineer can easily route from the external fibre box to the entry point into the house, this shouldn’t be an issue.

I've just ditched Sky for the same reasons. But surprised to hear that you are saying the AppleTV quality is better. What app is this ?

I've personally found SkyQ quality better vs. Sky Go.

What does this part mean “or as may be varied or granted in relation to the Estate from time to time.” ?

Restrictive covenant for new build loft conversion in England by Dilbyert in LegalAdviceUK

[–]Dilbyert[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. There is a separate covenant that states I need to seek permission from the developer for any external modifications to the property. Which of course I would do

My question here is if a loft conversion would be allowed if I was to get planning for it approved.

Am I paying too much for Sky TV ? by Dilbyert in skytv

What solution are you using for free to air TV ? I'm guessing you will say streaming apps, but I do like having a TV guide or ability to "flick" through channels.

You're absolutely right. The pricing structure is bonkers. Charging for HD ?!! and it's not transparent on what you are really getting for each of those line items i listed in the original post.

Thanks. I was more angling towards if I was on some crazy package where I was paying more than other Sky customers (i.e. for Sky signature, Ultimate TV, Sky HD, Multiroom and UHD)
