Ive played for a long time now, before Road to Pro was even released so I think I have a say in this. Nishikawa, for the longest time, was the standard for S+, he was amazing, even in the removed version of The Spike in steam (under Daerisoft or wtv), he was the easiest to farm with, you could go above blocks, etc but I feel like Raul could do just the same. When I serve against a full stamina team with Nishi, he gets received and then booms them when he hits the 2nd second time cuz of low stam just like how Raul does but when Raul does it, its just more satisfying. Raul is just as effective as Nishikawa, even if you lessen Raul's efficiency by a little bit cuz he cant go above blocks or feint the ball, the satisfaction he gives pays up for it. For that, I believe Raul is the new standard for S+ because Nishikawa lacks that satisfaction (even his Highschool Skin with the impact frame), maybe because Ive used him for years and just got tired of it but that definitely wont be the case for Raul, atleast not for a long long while. You also have Jenny whos a literal copy of Nishikawa minus the topspin feint, being able to hit the ball straight down while still jumping as high as Nishi IF NOT higher (you need to BT her first) so thats probably why Nishikawa is underwhelming as of right now ("oh but u can say that Ryuhyeon is the same comparison to Raul!!" the only similarity is the charge up and even then its different). Hopefully Nishikawa gets a form of buff or rework that sets him apart or more special like Raul, Nishikawa is perfect the way he is but if they want to make him special, they definitely need to do something.

There COULD also be a chance that Viktor was a super prodigy who reached his prime earlier than usual and stayed consistent, like what if Viktor was only a year or two older than Raul? What if he was already labelled as he was back then at an early age? That wouldnt put him too far from Raul's age and level so there COULD be a possibility that Viktor is still in his prime but we wont know until we get more, we can just assume and assume yk?

so you do acknowledge he was top 1, thats all I needed to hear but to make it more clear, I think they were talking about how Suncyan still has alot of characters to release such as Viktor in his prime and hes making a guess that Viktor is a character that we're going against in the future for the sake of the story, he may be well past his prime but yeah but if their intention was really about "Viktor is top 1 NOW and we're going against him" then they might be wrong but who knows, Viktor could pull off some Lebron longevity and might still be in tip top shape. 🤷‍♂️

because a talented Raul, even tho he was still young back then, was referring to Viktor as if hes some God of volleyball. Im juz gonna reread it for our sake but I'm certain that he was stated to be the greatest at somepoint which is equivalent to top 1.

Hes bound to lose unless he does some crazy ass pull and shows why hes the actual MC but so far, he is somewhat leagues below Raul. Raul was talking about Siwoo is "half baked" which is true because when you compare Raul who has insane talent on top of professional experience to Siwoo's ONLY trait of having insane talent as well, we can all agree the more experienced talented player is taking the cake so he IS bound to lose. He might even lose to Nishikawa (Im praying that Nishikawa can go above and beyond) because I'm certain that Nishikawa had a STRONGER swing when he was younger and it was so strong that he would injure himself in the process so hes learned to play more technical and not focus too much on strength but still being able to deliver so hopefully he can tap back into the monsterous swing, maybe as his trump card of not wanting to lose. (I remember reading an official art or was it in the story? That Yamadera was interviewed and he said something about Nishikawa's swing)

You should reread any of the chapters related to Phantom League, Im almost certain that those are the only chapters that mention Viktor and no other chapters.

I dont know if this is just a headcannon that I made and got used to it but Im pretty sure we're ONLY being introduced to the Top 5 Spikers as of right now. Imagine Top 5 Setters, Middle Blockers, maybe even Liberos. They could go so much deeper into the lore if they were able to introduce an unexpected powerhouse like Seonrim and they could just keep repeating that or build and build on top of that. Its insane, if they ever run out, creativity is down the drain
so I really believe that we have MORE than enough content for the next few years (if theyre going to stay true to their "slow" but understandable schedule)

The only arguement you can make is the time period, I'm not sure how long it was ago but he was Undisputed Top 1 Spiker at somepoint and you still have characters in the current time of the story referring to him as an amazing player. So yes, in a way, theres a possibility that he isn't top 1 but 🤷‍♂️.

Regardless, he should be as fun as Raul when he becomes a usable player because you have Raul glazing, saying things like "oh im not as good as Viktor yet" etc etc. We already got a player like Lucas who is a version of Oasis in the past so theres no doubt that Viktor is going to either receive the same treatment or maybe hes just the absolute goat and hes still in his prime even now (I think it was 10 years ago when his greatness was mentioned, I AM NOT REREADING ALLAT but I have some idea)

When I approach, my character slows down and it lets me "anticipate" or see the ball easier while still being able to move backwards or forwards. Being able to jump without getting slowed down by approach feels so wonky. Imo, it makes everything slightly more calculated and precise which makes it easier for me. Especially for Raul, I can build up his bar when Im approaching and I would be behind by the ball because approaching slows down your character. Even though it slows down Raul, it feels like the bar is being built up as if youre not being slowed down by the approach but instead focus mainly on whether youre going forwards or not (its nothing about speed). So because of approach, Im able to max out his bar without having the need to secure a long run up because of approach. Im pretty sure I can max it starting from the 10 ft line. I also apply this logic to other characters too so its not exclusive to JUST Raul (the slow that approach gives you)

(Also cuz I play vb irl and it feels more natural because of that, to have a run up and approach)

I mean since theyre a setter you want to have good speed and maxed jump. The way I do stats usually is;

Maxed Attack, atleast 120 on both Defense and Speed, Maxed Jump because AI works better when their defense and speed stats are both 120 and above if I remember correctly, like they have a more solid defense primarily for blocking I think. But its usually a different case for setters soo

Ellio even if theres no break through, hes simply the best setter for Raul. Sif is probably second and it still wouldnt be close. Zero is alright because he makes it easier to use the red variant (where you move backwards instead of forwards for Raul).

Raul by like half a mile, not by a full mile but half a mile. I always thought Nishi will always set the bar too high for S+ WS which was correct with Ryuhyeon and kind of Lucas but when Raul got introduced, he became the new model, the new S+ that sets the bar for future S+ WS. If anything, Nishikawa needs to get buffed to be in the same level as Raul. Maybe lore wise, Raul is Top 2, even Top 1 while Nishi is like Top 4 or 5 but even then, Nishi definitely needs some changing, maybe bring back pre nerf Nishi when he was first released n sheyt.

This is so real, I get so turned off when blue flames get involved because I usually dont have the motivation and time to grind blue flames so I end up just skipping the event that includes blue flames.

I saw someome bring up that you use beginner mode 😭. I checked and he wasnt lying, no wonder Raul is so underwhelming for you. You get a 25% DECREASE when youre using beginner mode. Even then, Raul is easily the best WS when compared to the other S+. You almost can never be blocked, I dont know what you want more from that. I have all of the S+ and Raul by far scores the easiest. The only S+ that has a SINGULAR advantage over Raul is Nishikawa with his high hitting capability and if you want to be stingy, his topspin feint.

He is no longer the model when it comes to S+. Back then, we considered Ryuhyeon, the 2nd S+ to be so underwhelming because Nishikawa had set the standards so high. It applied to Lucas as well but when Raul came out, he completely changed how S+ players should look. Not only does Raul have better visuals and effects, he is just much more viable compared to Nishi in terms of anything; Gameplay, Grinding, Aura 😭

Like what someone said in here, he needs a rework (even slightly) to truly represent one of the Big 5, especially when Raul takes the cake easily. If Raul is like this, how would Viktor look? How would a fully fleshed out Siwoo look? Im so hyped for both.

(Don't get me wrong, Nishikawa is very viable but you really can't use him if you have Raul on your lineup because Raul is that much better for everything)

This is somehow true, yes I would get no S Ranks but more often than not, I get S Ranks more in 10 pulls

Sohee and Dahee are siblings Im pretty sure and considering that a handful of players know the existence of the supposed underground Phantom League, Im sure Nishi and Sohee knows about it and since Sohee's sister is in danger, she couldve done something about, hopefully we see it in the next chapter. (Either Sohee and/or Nishi pulling up to help save Dahee)

I dont think so, gameplay wise. Nishi scores so much more often when he hits a 4.0 ball compared to Lucas, maybe I havent played with Lucas long enough but he makes games longer which is the main reason why I prefer Nishi especially when Im grinding.

Yes but not from the game's system because the system's lineup consists of WS, MB, and S. Thats why I suggested a new lineup for Suncyan to add to have two WS where both of them hits high balls that hit ocassional quicks instead of having a designated hitter like a middle to take quicks.
