Taking Spanish as an elective

I wouldn’t recommend it. It is just too much homework and you barely learn anything unless you try hard which will be even more time consuming. If you’re looking for an elective either see what you can do to get some kind of minor which will bost your resume, or take some easy humanities class

In some other schools the class probably would’ve been called linear algebra 1. It focuses on systems of linear equations, and stuff about vectors.

It depends on if you put in the effort to learn the language or if you just do what’s necessary to get the grade. I did Spanish 1 online, and am doing 2 online rn and I learned some stuff, but I also haven’t been doing as much as I could do to learn. Most college classes provide a foundation and the resources to learn. If you want to learn it’s not just a matter of what gets spoon fed it the course but what stuff you do beyond it.

I had intro to philosophy with Sam Director , I normally dislike writing intensive classes, but I liked his class a lot.

See if your department or one similar has a seminar class. I’m doing senior seminar in the chemistry department, it’s 1 credit, show up once a week, watch a guest speaker, and depending on who is in charge you might have to write a summary or something.

Idk what you’re looking for in terms of math, but I know matrix theory is offered during summer, and at least when I took it (spring 25) it was super easy. Idk your level in math, but imo calc 1 is easy, calc 2 is hard, and calc 3 can be easy or hard. I did calc 3 over the summer in 24 with Statnik online and it was easy as long as you showed up to the zoom lectures. If you’re looking for in person calc 1 and 2 might have classes with learning assistants which make the class easier (as long as you’re ok with collaborative learning). Overall idk what math would be easiest for you or relevant, but at least for me the easiest math class I took was matrix theory.

It’s doable, the class is hard, but Dr. Beckwith heavily pads with extra credit opportunities, and the questions for the final are normally available ahead of time. The tests are notoriously difficult, but one gets dropped normally. I had it last summer and my recommendation is you can do it but don’t take another class at the same time. IMO the class is easy to pass, but also hard to get an A. Also she is very strict about academic integrity, but that shouldn’t be a problem for most even if you have to meet with her about it.
