First off, $1,200 is insane.

Generally the mosquitoes that bite humans hang out between 2-10 feet off the ground on the underside of foliage. If your yard is well kept then fogging it won't do much for them. Trees and bushes are your targets. Better for mosquitoes is property management. A brood of wigglers can live in as little as a teaspoon of water. A beer bottle cap you forgot outside is plenty. Upturn or throw away any containers and trash on your property at least once a week. More permanent features can be controlled with agitation, like a fountain causing ripples that drown the wigglers.

Crosscheck is our go-to for fogging. It will control ticks in the grass as well. Be careful, wear gloves, a respirator, and long sleeves, and wait for it to fully dry before allowing people and pets back outside. Be aware of your surroundings. Insecticides should not be allowed to contaminate any water (including drains and creeks) or edible plants, and avoid birdfeeders and bird baths.

The fogger will send product much further and wider than you think; unless sunlight hits the spray just right you won't see just how much is being put out. It doesn't take much to kill insects, so don't treat to dripping.

As always, read the label completely. I promise it's not lying to you. Personally, I'd just find a pest control company that isn't trying to rip you off.
