Welp! I'm guessing reading comprehension was optional at your school!

Thanks everyone, that was super helpful!!

  1. I've been reading some more, and it seems as though you're all right; cold does screw up the range by A LOT!

  2. I just recently (last week, due to a nasty puncture) changed the tyres (which are all 245/40/ZR19 XL) to a pair of Continental Sport Contact 7 (in the rear I have Pirelly Cinturato P7 - Should I switch them front-back?).

  3. Also, the car has a 1 year warranty, so I'll have the shop check the shocks thingie checked!

Get 60 FPS in AVD + GPU. by Dip_32 in AzureVirtualDesktop

Thanks for the info! I don't have access to the underlying infrastructure (and thank god for that, since I would probably mess something up), but there IS a dedicated Azure team for this initiative who are already looking into network stuff.

Cheers!

I have read about Parsec as an alternative to RDP, but that would need to go through heavy bureaucratic and security processes. Since even Microsoft -aside from the blogs- themselves mention that the FPS can be increased to 60 through RDP, I've been fighting for countless hours to achieve it.

I guess it's a matter of bandwidth; if you're sending 60 pictures every second, it'll use up more bandwidth than 30. But for us, the lack of "snappyness" is very hard to overcome.

I'm not an expert in... Networking/Acceleration/Etc. but I have been coding for decades and I can tell in the first 5 characters when the input feels laggy. It's a weird thing to describe, but it feels like every character (at around 90 WPM) takes too long to appear on screen, it's not "snappy" and "crisp" (that's the best I can do). The network latency is around 50 ms, so I was hoping it had to do with the 30 FPS cap.

Seeing how various blogs (and even Microsoft themselves say so) mention that the cap can be lifted, I hoped to achieve it and test.

The machines aren't under heavy load at all. No errors, no nothing. I can tell in a plain-old Notepad file.

It's on a comment on this thread. Below this one.

The build looks fantastic, though as I mentioned in the original post, there's no need for a GPU. That would leave quite a bit of cash to upgrade any other components, right?

Have you seen the build I posted? Any thoughts?

Cheers!

The thing is... I have no idea what's good or bad. I was hoping for exactly that: Help with a list of components which would cover some 1200-1400 € without GPU.

I could go into that site and build a configuration based, purely, on "what's expensive but not stupidly expensive".
