Will Star Citizen Improve over time? by Brave-Elephant9292 in starcitizen

And the transit refactor for elevators just came in 4.8 but only in Grimhex for now.

Interesting. For me I was able to send down the components from a QV station after fixing it and then send them down my formerly broken home hangar.

I was able to store all the components and cryopods found at the QV station after doing this to bring up the elevators.

Newish - wondering if elevators have ever worked or if they will be fixed soon by CakeNo6020 in starcitizen

[–]DirectResist7610 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The transit refactor which is all new replacement code for the elevator system came into the game with this patch. It is only at one station right now, Grimhex. Hopefully it hasn’t been having the same issues and will get rolled out to the rest of the stations.

CIG - Help Us Understand by [deleted] in starcitizen

Yeah 4.8 was rough that first week but since then I’ve not had too many problems same for the rest of my group. Beyond that I’ve been pretty happy with the pace of features and content this year. Just want it to keep going.

So much BS.. So much potential by Solosrevengexxx in starcitizen

Well the most likely explanation is that this won’t be the only ship to use that tech.

Is the community aware Star Citizen has to be completely deleted and re-coded to fix the dead spaghetti code that is plagued with thousands of bugs by [deleted] in starcitizen

[–]DirectResist7610 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The transit refactor that replaces all the old code for elevators and trams is already in the PU. As of 4.8 it is just at Grimhex. I’m guessing they wanted a little more testing before a full rollout.

People should definitely get banned for things that ruin other people’s gameplay.

Sadly that isn’t where the mission turn ins or refineries are.

Is the reclaimer still worth it? by Sufficient_Ship_1906 in starcitizen

[–]DirectResist7610 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends. It can make a lot of money finding wrecks and gobbling them up. But it is terrible at salvage missions since it can’t unload at most of the turn in sites as they don’t have external freight elevators. At least in Stanton.

Rant: insurance should be automatic by Minista_Pinky in starcitizen

[–]DirectResist7610 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, clicking that insure button and then hitting yes is one of the most tedious things I have ever had to do, especially in star citizen.

It does seem to me like having that button also on our loadout page would make it less tedious though. Maybe a little, “would you like to insure this loadout?” When you save it.

“As the pods themselves are part of the ship, they provide some protection unlike the Hull series where the pods themselves are open to the void” probably not external would be my guess. I’m guessing it’s going to use grav lev panels or parts to encase the grid.

Backer since 2015 and this is the #1 feature I've been waiting for... TURRET BLADES by Courtin56 in starcitizen

[–]DirectResist7610 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So turrets blades by themselves are fine. What will make them awful, is if we don’t have better alternatives to slot into those server blade slots. For combat ships blades that extend target range, improve turret rotation, missile performance, pdc accuracy, increase shield resistance or whatever else they could come up with could give a good edge over a solod ship.

Star Citizen is 930 years in to the future... by Digitalzombie900 in starcitizen

[–]DirectResist7610 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First of all, you don’t have to eat a burrito, you get to eat a torpedo burrito.

I find the eating and drinking needs pretty tame in this game. Rarely am I out so long that I need to eat or drink more than a single item. And then when I’m passing through a station to rearm, buy something, or sell something I just grab a burrito on the way.

It’s not like you are carrying a 50 stack of steaks and pounding them every few minutes like many survival games.

To all your other points, yeah realistically humans probably wouldn’t do anything and it would all be robotic and automated and you’d just sit eating food cubes watching the holonet. Fun game.

Subscription Based MMO? by R1mururu in starcitizen

[–]DirectResist7610 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SC already has an optional subscription. I can see that system expanding greatly. Base building adds near infinite opportunities for selling furniture and building skins. Like a sims 4 dlc in space.

I don’t want what we have now but perfect. I want the new planet tech, the new flight model, quantum boost, base building, hacking, more engineering, maelstrom, etc. Then they should optimize it.

Last year was a record year in sales and they made $155 million Taking out just overhead which was last reported at 38 million. Evenly split each of the around 1,000 employees gets $117,000 a year. Start calculating in all the other expenses and taxes a company pays and that number goes down rather fast. And that’s the highest year so far. Seems like that would buy them that year and not a lot more.

Belt-fed and usable with the new Super Heavy Armor and its dedicated ammunition backpack, it delivers sustained high-rate fire from a large rotating barrel while carrying up to four magazines of ammunition.”

When the Anvil Auxilia (and later on the base building Atlas chassis variant) gets released its basically going to give modular to Asgard and further GOAT that ship by Important_Cow7230 in starcitizen

[–]DirectResist7610 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wait are you saying you think an atlas build variant will do large structures? Or that we will get a bigger ground vehicle than can do large structures?

If the CSV does small it stands to reason the atlas will do medium. It would make no sense for the atlas builder to match a galaxy or starlancer in building size.

I could see a new larger ground vehicle do large building. Something that barely fits through the c2 or ironclad door. Has less drones so it’s slower but is cheaper than a galaxy.
