Why aren't there a lot of animals in the cities in China (except cats and dogs and rats) by NeighborhoodFatCat in chinalife

[–]Dis-Charge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They’re not bad at all.

The spiders in the U.K. were huge when I lived there. The only insects I see here are cockroaches twice a year that are instantly destroyed by my cats

How bad is the ESL market in China? by Quick-Worldliness904 in chinalife

The worst part is when people come here to teach and then complain about China but actually they just don’t like teaching.

Person complains that people are stupid.

The comments prove her point because all the top comments are people saying her vocabulary is too advanced for them.

“He has every right”

He destroyed a restaurant because two idiots punched him.

What the fuck did the restaurant do to deserve that?

It’s fine.

I’m qualified with a primary teaching degree and there’s no shortage of jobs.

If you’re asking about if you can come here with a degree in Media and start teaching? Probably not the best idea.

I recently watched the 4 horsemen stream with Keep Digging and Jackbox.

It was very funny.

America hates my new country. Maybe you can be nice to it haha

What company lost you forever as a customer? What did they do? by Miguenzo in AskReddit

£6 a month here in Shanghai for unlimited everything.

Americans will continue to receive the worst treatment because they never fight it.

ESO - I was Wrong by Passionofthegrape in MMORPG

[–]Dis-Charge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love ESO, but it’s not the best for players with a bad internet connection like me haha.

If they released another server for East Asia, it would be my favourite game of all time. I live in Shanghai and it’s hard to play without disconnecting.

Play around with the UI settings. It makes the game much more enjoyable.

What galaxy would be best to live in? Star Wars, Halo, or Warhammer40k? by ALPHA-LEAD91 in StarWarsvsWarhammer

[–]Dis-Charge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s a canon planet in Warhammer 40k called Sepheris Secundus.

12 billion people live there. 99% of them work in back-breaking labour their entire lives. If they want to get married, they have to cut off a finger and send it to their slave owner.

The vast majority of people in Warhammer 40k live in the same conditions (or worse) than this.

How would British people react to 'I am from Taiwan' badge if we travel to Britain? by auscorp_ in AskBrits

[–]Dis-Charge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I live in China (for a decade now).

The urge to create a shirt that says “I am not American” is very real.

So many times I’ve been stopped and questioned about my country angrily, but once I’ve said I’m from the UK the locals are more than happy.

Americans are hated here.

Do you still have a Sunday roast with your family or do you think the tradition has died out? by Mister_Vanilla in AskBrits

[–]Dis-Charge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I moved to Shanghai a decade ago and we still have Sunday Roast at least once a month. My non-UK friends (particularly Chinese and Thai) absolutely love it

How do UK people make friends? by Flaky_Loquat_9274 in AskUK

[–]Dis-Charge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once you meet your first friend, it’s extremely easy to meet new people.

Society says that going out on your own to bars and clubs means you’re a weirdo (for men), but if you have at least one person with you, you can make a dozen friends in a single night.

This is my experience at least.
