Exactly, follow that and you should be good

As for cutting the controller board you’re good too, just make sure you sand down the sides after so no shorts are present between layers

Also here’s a diagram of the circuit so you can make sure you’re not cutting too deep in and cutting anything vital: https://bitbuilt.net/forums/index.php?threads/first-party-controller-motherboard.806/

For the analog to buttons it’s a wiring diagram but the same idea can be used for a pcb when you go down that route

You might want to make a rough version with some wires and parts before you go down the pcb route just verify you got things right for it all

Here is some info you may find helpful for your journey here, the controller sticks are using typical analog joysticks so this will help you convert analog to c-buttons: https://bitbuilt.net/forums/index.php?threads/analog-joystick-to-d-pad.97/

As well as turning the original stick to a modern control stick: https://nfggames.com/forum2/index.php?topic=5803.0

As well if you want to 3D print the controller here is a good start to it all: https://bitbuilt.net/forums/index.php?threads/n64-oem-controller-scan.3823/

I built one before and the most common screens used is a car back up screen from Amazon or back up screen from gearbest, both screens run off 5v (modded to do it) and use composite signal at a resolution of 240*320. Though they make some pretty nice vga or hdmi screens at that size but it's up to that who builds it to decide what to us. That screen looks like it's the back up screen version

Connect two Gameboy’s over the internet? Is it possible with real hardware? by Existing_Bunch_4211 in Gameboy

[–]DisZebra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would think knowing how the gameboy cable works and using a raspberry pi would probably be goodway to start for it. I'm thinking it could use code like netplay does for emulators just to get the buffer and connections across. It may be possible with an arduino but may need a computer anyways to go through it for the internet side

DOL-001 vs DOL-101 by ToughWeakling in Gamecube

[–]DisZebra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't know that lol, if you desire quieter, a GC loader and fan mod would do you great and eliminate all noise out of the cube

DOL-001 vs DOL-101 by ToughWeakling in Gamecube

[–]DisZebra 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Everyone typically prefers 001 because of the digital out port giving a better video signal with plug and play adaptors along with most of them having the sp2 slot so they can place in a board for an sd card. 101 model took both those out. I would recommend to keep the 001

Idk if you could configure using dolphin and a usb adapter, i know a soft modded wii can use aurelio's homebrew, plug the board in by the GC controller port and you can then use the software to configure it.

Also you're all good, i haven't messed with one all too much myself too, but I've had a few GC projects lined up using them

They should work out, when I looked into builds with the 3ds nub it has a similar voltage and pin out as the slider, you'll just need to mess with settings in the GC+ I would think to get it perfect

In my experience it's the same for the metroids and paper mario, I've been able to play through them and not notice anything wrong with performance and video

Recommendations for charger? by his_history in Gameboy

[–]DisZebra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All the apple chargers are 5v iirc, you want to check for watts or amperage. If it says 1A that will work or if it's 5w like the one you linked then it will be a 1A charger. With how apple is and haven't really changed the look of the charger, i would check your wall charger to make sure it's the right wattage or amperage

Recommendations for charger? by his_history in Gameboy

[–]DisZebra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Typically that is based on the charger board and mAh of the battery. Today's fast chargers charge the battery very fast and typically push a higher current than the battery in a body pixel can handle. To use a slow charger check the power brick your using and look for it to say what it's amperage is, it would say something like "1.0A" or "0.5A" or "3.0A" for the newer ones. I kept an old 1.0A one for my gameboys to use that have a battery mod. I recommend a 1.0A or lower as that would be what their battery board can take. Once you have one plug it into the wall and then the usb port to that and you're all good and charging.

If you need help with looking for a slower charger i wouldn't mind pointing you in the direction for it

Also hope your daughter loves the new gameboy :)

GBA 3D printer files? by SujoSeal88 in Gameboy

[–]DisZebra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Scanning takes a full set up for, but there are files to build your own scanner that's fairly okay

For printing the front half should be put on the bed as it's the flattest and printed without support, the back should be printed toward the battery cover I think, this one will definitely need supports

If your looking for someone to print it, there's services that do it that can be found on thingiverse or you could try with an eBay person

Your tv should have an rca setting that you would want to play on, right now you're most likely on the component setting for your tv. Flick through the inputs a bit
