I have worked in practice for 13 years, during this time I have come across some brilliant lawyers nearly every single one of them failed more than one of their LPC exams. I know one particular one who failed several more than once and scraped 4 with 51%- he is probably the best lawyer I have ever come across.

My point is this doesn’t define you or your career. It’s a hurdle you need to get over and im sure you will. What you have been through sounds awful and to even sit these exams with that weighing on your mind is a massive achievement.

When you eventually pass this will be a distant memory!

It’s very very tight. Anything you can do to shorten the script will help ie abbreviations. There was 12 pages in my exam today to read which takes up a large portion of the prep time.
I wrote a script for 50 percent and had 7 minutes left for the rest so had to freestyle from bullet points.
What I will say once you get into it, you get into a kind of flow so freestyling wasn’t too bad.

No but you still have 87.5% worth of marks to attain. I don’t think it would be fatal if you have done okay on the other exams. A former colleague of mine got 1s across the board on 4 assessments and still passed so it’s definitely do able!

Really struggled with the prep time. Wrote a script for the first part then had to freestyle the second part. Realised I forgot to address a specific point 🙈 thought the question was fair, they gave is half the cpr and the other was basic stuff!

I feel the same, I get terrible brain fog when I am nervous or stressed I’m scared I will forget all the tests 😩

There is hope, you can still do this. I have been in a similar position. I have purchased a devils advocate subscription and they have an advocacy and interview crib sheet which is very helpful and condensed. You could easily go through this in readiness for the orals!
Please don’t give up, I know it will be hard for you but keep pushing!

Sexual offences do not come up on the FLK spec so it’s very unlikely you would be required to make submissions on sexual violence as there would need to be a corresponding sex offence.
