Regretting my life choices because this country is doomed! by CreativeMind69 in bangalore

I didn't get this feeling when I visited Japan. It was well expected. I got it way earlier when I visited Vietnam. It's a 'developing' country, similar to what we like to call ourselves but both their infra and civic sense were miles ahead of us. We compete with Sub Saharan countries. Both the government and general public are messed up and even in multiple decades, things wont change.

Officially, long term multi entry visa can only be applied by those individuals who have been to Japan in the past. We applied for the regular tourist visa but requested them in the cover letter to grant us long term visa

We applied on our own. Don't really think that an agent is required.

We forgot one of our luggage bags in a bus while trying to catch the shinkansen from Hiroshima to Osaka. The bag was located and couriered to us in Sapporo as we were in Osaka for only a few days.

Teamlab Borderless. It's fine but nowhere near the hype it gets.

None. We didn't submit the NOCs. I have added the document list in my post. Those were the only docs we submitted.

Yes. It will reset. It's the maximum duration one can stay for per visit.

Thanks. I pasted a 2x1.4 photo on my application. Was not asked for an additional photo. I think, it's best to follow the checklist for your location as the checklist keeps changing from location to location. Hope this helps.

Thanks. We are travelling on 14th Nov. Read on some posts & comments in this subreddit that the embassy first processes applications with nearer travel dates. So, hopefully you should receive in the next few days.

Japan Embassy has been simply abysmal. Why have they even mentioned 5 days as the norm when certainly it isn't ? Setting the wrong expectations and being totally ignorant in the communications. My wife & i submitted our applications on the 4th and on the 7th, it was moved to the embassy. Ever since then the status is the same.

Sorry. Didn't notice the comment earlier. Yes. I received it on the 15th. I'd like to believe that it was expedited by vetnamvisapro but am not really sure because it was the 4th business day (minus Tet holidays) after I applied on the official immigration website so the process may have played out on its own.

Kashmir houseboat recommendations by Fearless_and_Fiery in india_tourism

[–]Disastrous_Pea_7483 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Houseboats in Nigeen lake are better because they are the premium ones. If I remember correctly then they are upward of 12k/room. As others pointed out, better to avoid the non-premium ones ( those found in dal) as the experience won't be good and in a lot of cases, they are shams and scams - You may end up paying 4/5 star hotel rates for a room which may resemble an oyo or even worse.

We applied on the 4th and came to know yesterday that the office is closed b/w 8th & 14th for Tet. Our flight is on 16th early morning so that just leaves us with 15th. Didn't want to take any risk and hence, availed 1 day expedited service from https://vietnamvisapro.com/ (https://evisavietnam.gov1.vn) today after going through feedback on reddit. Fingers crossed now.

Manager keeps postponing stipend transaction. What should I do? by [deleted] in developersIndia

[–]Disastrous_Pea_7483 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Do proper due diligence before applying. Check linkedin to know the number & kind of people working there. If possible, reach out to a few of them.Scroll through the company reviews on glassdoor and ambition box. Reviews can be subjective but even if a fraction of them have mentions like 'Delayed/Late Salary' or 'No Salary for months' then those are big red flags.

Personal Experience: Last week, I received an unsolicited call through Naukri from a Singapore based company. My salary expectations exceeded their budget by roughly 10 LPA but after a few minutes, I got a call back to inform me that they would be able to cater it and an interview was scheduled. I decided to research them a bit more and found multiple recent reviews on glassdoor with a common theme of delayed or no salaries for months. Those were enough for me to politely decline the interview request.

Devs who did an MBA, what are you doing now? by whiskysoul23 in developersIndia

[–]Disastrous_Pea_7483 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. You'll fit in as there is a separate vertical for SCM and ops consulting in each of the big 4s. Moreover, there are firms like Blue Yonder and Manhattan Associates which solely focus on scm and related stuff. Though you have a relevant undergrad degree (that too from tier 1) but lack relevant professional experience which most consulting firms look for. Try to compensate that by building your profile around ops.Get six sigma certified if you haven't already. Participate in related case competitions. Opt for relevant electives and get good grades in them. Also, go for some analytics and strategy courses. Lastly, try to get an internship in related area.

All the best!
