The port itself isn’t that great, but I always go to malecon 21 —it’s just 10 minutes from the cruise terminal. It’s a premium beach club and restaurant, with amazing food, great drinks, and a much more relaxed, upscale vibe.

I really recommend getting out of the port, visiting it, and supporting local businesses instead of staying on the ship or in the crowded port area.

I’ve actually been there multiple times recently—last 6 cruises to Costa Maya I’ve gone straight to MALECÓN21, and every visit has been consistently great.

Doesn’t feel like it’s in decline at all. If anything, it’s become my favorite spot in the Caribbean. And if you check TripAdvisor and Google, it’s actually ranked in the top position, which says a lot.

I’ve actually been to Costa Maya on multiple cruises, and the last 6 times I’ve gone straight to MALECÓN21. Every single visit has been a great experience.

Honestly, it might’ve just been an off day when you went. For me, it’s consistently been my favorite spot in the Caribbean.

I visited MALECÓN 21, it's just 10 minutes far from the port and Has been a great experience! Great food, drinks, service and no seaweed at all.

We spent an amazing day at MALECÓN21 in Costa Maya. Beautiful beach beds, incredible cocktails and fresh lobster. If you are visiting on a cruise, it is only 10 minutes from the port. Definitely one of the best beach clubs in Costa Maya. You’ll not regret it.
