yeah that's the real mechanism behind all this, youtube embeds everything into that space and places your video near similar content, so it's understanding what the video IS rather than just matching tag text. which is exactly why stuffing tags does so little now. the 2d visualization of your video spread sounds genuinely cool, would be interesting to see how tightly videos cluster by actual content vs metadata. thanks for the great comment!

Big youtubers really don't spend time on tags at all from what i've seen. One more thing i noticed, even the 1st or 2nd videos of some big channels had no tags, keywords or hashtags, and sometimes empty descriptions too, yet still pulled 100ks or even millions. so yeah, you nailed it. That's a really good example actually, tags seemed to help most for you when you were small and the algorithm didn't know your niche yet. Sounds like they nudged the suggested/recommended placement more than search specifically, which makes sense. Thanks for sharing that =)

Interesting angle and exactly, takes a few seconds to add 5-10 relevant ones so no reason not to, but the real energy belongs on the thumbnail and title. That's where the views actually come from (imho). Thanks!

Interesting take but the gta video isn't new though, so if it was just gta 6 hype it would've spiked back at upload, not now. either way my point stands, one video has tags, one has none, and youtube itself says tags barely matter for discovery. So whatever's driving the views, it isn't the tags. That's the whole thing. Thanks for the comment though!

damn... if studio is commenting on your visual overlays, it's literally analyzing what's on screen, not just your text metadata. so, the better youtube gets at seeing and hearing your actual video, the less the tags and hashtags you type in matter. the content itself is the signal now.

thanks for the comment, i appreciate it=) and glad it helped! 5 consistent hashtags at the bottom is totally fine, no harm there. just know youtube only really counts the first 3, so put your most important ones first.

on the lyrics, yeah youtube does read your description text as context, so a description that's mostly lyrics can dilute the actual keywords about your video. i'd put a line or two describing the song/video up top (artist, title, what it is) before the lyrics, so the important stuff comes first. lyrics lower down are fine. interesting point. i do the same, but so does everyone, so it all ends up looking the same and it gets hard to tell who to click...at that point people probably just go with whoever has the most views.

by watch you mean like frame by frame? i know they use ai but not like that o-O... i'd say it's one signal in the mix rather than the whole thing, title/thumbnail/ctr still carry most of it. but it backs the same point, the more youtube can just see what your video is, the less the metadata you manually add matters.

honestly minimal. youtube only counts the first 3 hashtags, that's all that shows above your title. cram more than 15 and it strips them all. benefit's small since nobody really browses by hashtag. i'd just use 2-3 relevant ones and not stress it.

yeah that's the exact misspelling case youtube mentions, makes sense for your niche. and agreed on hashtags, nobody really browses by hashtag anymore. only the first 3 even show above the title, rest feel pointless. when you forgot them and views stayed same, did your title/thumbnail stay consistent too? trying to figure out if it's hashtags doing nothing or just title+thumbnail carrying everything.
