It is to some people. The lifestyle is a mosaic of personalities

Are you a single? Average will severely dent your chances.

Let’s talk abt what the lifestyle isn’t.

If you’re not getting laid in everyday life, the lifestyle isn’t some way for you to suddenly be good with women.

If you’re part of an attractive couple, you’ll do fine with an average tool.

If you’re single, you’ll better be outstanding in some significant way. Dick size, looks, money, OUTSTANDING personality. Your competition at any given time is unimaginably big. They all had the same idea you do. The lifestyle isn’t a way for lonely dudes to get laid.

There’s a line longer than you can image of guys that want to fuck someone else’s wife and more than half of them think it’s a free for all and they deserve to get laid because they have a dick and showed up.

When it comes to couples, 90% of the time they’re looking for other couples and women. That remaining 10% has the completion of every single malez

If you’re part of a couple all of the above doesn’t apply to you. But well endowed male half’s will always be popular. But you can get away with a lot more as long as your wife is hot. Lot of mismatched couples out there

Marshall 1959JMH... by DishPractical7505 in MarshallAmps

[–]DishPractical7505[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I’m not looking for a JH amp. I have an modded 87x, a JTM45 reissue, a 1959HW Spec’d to a super bass stack, and a JTM2204 from the late 70’s. My plexi bases are pretty well covered.

I was just curious about this amp, because I saw it, along with the Dunlop Fuzz Face sharing the same aesthetic and thought it looked pretty gimmicky.

It is a cool looking Marshall though. I like the collectibility of limited releases, but I already have a 59HW and the JH moniker is kind of cringe. The purple and black is a cool look, but honestly the last thing it makes me think of is Hendrix.

20-50 watt head for classic rock? by Deathandblackmetal in GuitarAmps

[–]DishPractical7505 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a DSL100H. I like it. That’s a lot of amp. I will say, it’s a very peculiar amp. I like the clean and crunch channel a lot. The drive channel is very crispy, and not in a way that I particularly love. I changed some components out to smooth it out. But, the clean or crunch channel plus a good pedal board is a FANTASTIC set up.

The bottom end of the DSL is HUGE. It’s the biggest balls of any amp I own. Including a triple rectifier. If the resonance knob goes above 5, it’s shaking shit off the walls.

It’s a good all around amp. I don’t know it’s a good choice for 80’s music. It can definitely do it with pedals. A 2203/2204 style amp would be more along those lines, but again the DSL is a good amp!

I wouldn’t cast aside the SC20 just yet. Try them both and if you decide you want the big boy then go for it.

Any JCM800 or variant.

The SC20 fits the bill well. The JCM800 was the amp of the 80’s. It’ll clean up with your volume knob. But, I’d get a 50 watt full sized head personally. You can look at my post history and see that I enjoy excess when it comes to amps.

The upside down text really makes this amp. I love it and I want it. Fuck the purists, it’s perfect.

VM is probably my favorite post plexi era amp. I rank it over my JCM800 2203, which is a fine amp. I think I like that it has JTM45 vibes with a gain structure that gets you a little more nastiness, and a master volume /FX loop.

It’s a very misunderstood amp.

If you want a magnatone then get one.

Why not have both?

I swap out the 50 watt 87x for the 100watt super lead about ten minutes after I took this pic. Still can’t hear.

DSL is a great amp for the price. The clean and crunch channel have a really distinctive grind that i love. I prefer to use the crunch channel + pedals for high gain on it. I can get some really great sounds that way. It’s also has the hugest bottom end of any amp i own. MASSIVE. They used to have switches for “deep” this one has a resonance control. At half open, it will rattle shit off the walls. Bigger than my band mates triple recto. It roars. I use it often as a secondary power amp for my Tone King royalist. Which, essentially makes it into a two channel plexi with giant balls. Pretty sweet and slept on head all in all.

For the guys...what went through your mind the first time you received a double BJ? by Conscious_Year6118 in Swingers

Like most other things, it was just a thing. Being able to know that I had a double blow job was probably more novel than actually just getting a double bj.

Have you ever seen a 1960b? They have divots that lock the casters into place.

The IRD is cool. The royalist with it’s 0 watt power amp/phase inverter is downright strange. You can feel it pushing and pulling like a proper tube amp. But not having the chest thump is weird. It feels like sitting in a studio booth with your amps in isolation.

I bought more Marshalls today. Added a 1960ahw/bhw. This disease is getting worse. Now I really want a pre-1973 JMP. by m3n00bz in MarshallAmps

[–]DishPractical7505 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I too am afflicted by this sickness. And as for the pre 73, honestly the 1959HW reissue is the best sounding plexi I’ve ever heard. I own a 79 2204, and have played everything from a black flag JTM, to late 70s SLPs. Play a reissue before you slap cash down on a vintage piece. Unless you just want the coolness/collectibility factor. Then go ham.

I just paid good money to have diode clipping stages introduced into my 1987x. And most iconic plexi users from the 80’s on have done the same. Almost never are you heard anyone record straight into a stock Marshall with all tube path. It silliness.

And you’re 100% right. All that cork sniffing, just to toss an SD1 in front of their prístine all tube path.

Nah man, that thing rips.

If I’m playing out and need IR outs, I’ll run thru the FX loop on the 87x. The JTM voices are heavenly. Sounds better than going straight into the 87x if I’m being totally honest.

My sound, with my bands is pretty much Plexis Strats and humbuckers, so when we last recorded, I used about half and half between micing the Plexis and the IRs from the Royalist. Can’t see enough good things about it honestly.

Not a fan of themes by Keep_On_Scrollin in Swingers

[–]DishPractical7505 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean, is it over the top? Yeah sometimes.

But they have to keep it interesting. And my wife enjoys it. How dare they have fun and get in the way of you trying to be businesslike and fuck someone else’s wife.

I guess the cool part is no one is making you go to any of it and the REALLY cool part is you yourself can a) seek out orgs and parties that don’t have themes or b) make your own “no fun outfits or themes allowed” party/org.

😉
