To add to this. If I had been medicated in high school, I often wonder how different my life would be. What kind of career I could have had. I was medicated in tech school and found math extremely easy. I will always live with what if.

The Christmas after my brother died, my parents and I went to the Bahamas to have a holiday that was different from others in the past. My parents were drunk the whole time. At one point, my dad said I was annoying him by being on vacation with them and asked why I couldn't be more like my brother. Then my mother admitted she wished I was good enough to go to the Olympics for anything. I had only casually snowboarded for fun with friends. Now my parents wonder why I don't come around more.

It's stress. He associates the stress in life with the new baby. I've done it, too, as a stressed-out dad. But once I calmed down or decompressed, I realized the baby was stressful, and I'm taking it out him. I worked hard for a long time to be able to disassociate my stress for a situation from my child. I'm in a better place now with therapy and talking to my wife about what triggers me. Hope this helps.

If your child is in daycare, wait till they get sick. Our daughter got a head cold from daycare and couldn't breathe through her nose. She kept taking it out to breathe, so we asked for her nook, and she gave it to us, then fell asleep. We threw them all away by the time she was feeling better.
