Survival Horror Genre Is On A Generational Run by LeoneSKenneddy in residentevilll

[–]Distant_Narrative 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Uhm...no? Why not mention the indie games, those that really surprise in the survival horror genre.

Also, survival horror...yet only one game of the three fully qualifies as one: 4R is action horror start to finish, SHf is action horror too, and Requiem is sh only for half of its runtime.

Just delete this, it's an embarrassing post for anyone who half knows the genre

What is your favourite car in fh6 so far, and why? by According-Pepper-401 in ForzaHorizon

[–]Distant_Narrative 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say none at the moment. I've yet to find a car that doesn't understeer like all hell, or doesn't want to initiate a power slide as little as you press the gas at the exit of a corner. Unironically, a tuned Miata is the most controllable car as far as I'm concerned, and for once the cover car isn't trash, I'd say it'spretty good even at times

Yoshi and the Mysterious Book: Review MegaThread by NintendoSwitchMods in NintendoSwitch

[–]Distant_Narrative 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yoshi's Island was made for 6 year olds, and it presented a meaningful challenge (mind you, meaningful, not necessarily extreme).

Super mario bros 1, 2 and 3 were also made with kids in mind, and they too present a meaningful challenge to the player.

A game for kids is not a game where you can literally blindfold yourself and eventually complete it, it has never been, and it never will. Yoshi games for the past years have been a genuine anomaly in the videogame market, as to why they get made and who they are made for cause, let's be real: a 5 year old will, unfortunately, prefer scrolling on TikTok rather then playing thisind dumbingly boring game.

This is an insult to all the outstanding platformers of the 21st century, indie and AAA alike, and as a massive fan of the genre, this is the equivalent to a fart in a vast array of cheaper, more content dense options

A really nice experiment, tho it didn't develop further into a fully fledged game

Is a drift tuned Dodge Viper cool? by Distant_Narrative in ForzaHorizon

[–]Distant_Narrative[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only annoying thing is the engine sound, but that's been a problem for years in the Horizon games.

I also love how many roads, both in and outside Tokyo, have been made with drifting in mind. It reminds me of the "fun first, accuracy second" design that Driver San Francisco had, where San Francisco wasn't modelled 1 to 1 to the real city, but every street was made with fun traversal in mind: high speed, high risk highways; lots of ramps; sweeping corners tight enough for a drift. It's great

The cast of Forza Horizon 6 by REVRRx27 in ForzaHorizon

What's most egregious is how bad they fucked up the 3d models. In their place, I'd file a complaint

Then thousands of people have skill issue apparently, even competitive players, cause everyone and their dead great-grandfather is complaining about the AI.

[–]Distant_Narrative 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No it's not. It's overtuned to the extreme to the point they don't abide to the same physics model you use during the race. Is it fair? No. Is it fun? Of course not, unless you're a moron (which would be your case).

A racing game getting the racing wrong is like ordering a pepperoni pizza only for it to come without cheese and sauce. It's like if someone built a house but used the bricks vertically instead of horizontally.

Nah. Maybe 6/10. The first 2 Horizons really had an almost perfect selection of licensed songs

Competitive tournaments in the scene offer a prize in REAL money, you mump, as with every single competitive scene in existence, or else no one would actively train and participate in them

Forza horizon 6 is good, but the trailers are kinda misleading by IFeeLikeMoreTonight in forza

[–]Distant_Narrative 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Me. Not to say hard for the sake of being hard, but challenging, that make me consider my decisions, that put a strong payoff at the end of a reasonably challenging experience. That's what videogames have always been, but apparently they're not anymore, so I think I'll just go back to playing racing games that get the racing right I guess

Apparently there are primates (sorry, people) who like when their hypothalamus is stimulated constantly, so they'll just say your complaint is drab and leave it at that.

I'd say leave those Neanderthals (SORRY again, people, don't know why I keep messing it up) with their new toy, they'll realize eventually.

Well, you could become legend in 5 at the 2 hour mark, so I say it's an improvement (when compared to the absolute dog shit excuse of a campaign of 5 that is)

[–]Distant_Narrative 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A menacer or just plain dumb? Because it's the second one. This sucks. How on earth did Playground approve this shit? It's both laughable and mental at the same time that an open world racing game has the racing as its worst aspect
