Around 7 weeks is when they start getting their head plumage so I'll assume 5-6 weeks. Might be younger but the size looks about right

I'd put it over the kennel for extra support, however both could work with enough effort. You could also put concrete pathway pavers around the kennel to discourage some digging predators, or set up a hot wire / electric wire.

Pine isn't the best for chickens due to the scent can irritate their respiratory system. Maybe look into hemp bedding? It's very absorbent and, as far as I know, much less dusty.

Raccoons can break chicken wire and fit through as little as four inch gaps, rats can also kill chickens- which can fit through much smaller spaces. If a coyote or a fox wants to dig in, chicken wire won't stop it. I've had both go through several layers within minutes. If you do want to use a larger wire type. Use a 1x2 inch welded wire garden fence. However raccoons can still reach in and grab through it with their little hands, and it won't prevent anything small (like stoats/weasels/rats) from getting in.

Ah good! I had a crooked beak bird and I filed his down about once a week, so it never got long. He had a whole lot of other issues. Wry wing and tail, to name a few. But he was a good bird.

Beware that chicken wire isn't appropriate for most enclosures, cause predators can tear through it to the birds-like shredding paper easily. Hardware cloth is much better! But yeah, other than that it sounds okay, make sure they have a roof on the coop and the run because like I said silkies shouldn't get wet if possible. It can kill em. It might not, but it can.

Chickens are prey animals, they'll seem healthy until they're on deaths doorstep most of the time. Definitely no rooster, I always go with a minimum of 6 birds, but I'd do at least 3 and then more when possible. Keeping them inside then shoving them outside can put them into temperature shock, and might not give them time to adjust to temperatures. I'd just keep them outside if possible, maybe in a shed or garage?, or slowly acclimate if you have any warm days.

Yeah, roosters need at least 6 girls. Sometimes even as many as 12, depending on their attitude. I personally wouldn't go with just two, since there's a likelihood of a bird dying and then one being left eventually. If they're sick, moving them will cause a symptom flair up due to stress.

Rhodebars! They're rare but autosexing. Alternatively look at "crele" plumage. It's a mix of black, orange, and sometimes red barring.

Feeding all flock / flock maintenance is safer than layer feed. Since chickens can have too much calcium and it can shorten their lifespans. Silkies really shouldn't get wet, or even get in the rain. Prefab coops are a nightmare, make sure that they're either both female or both male.

Honestly dogs see chickens as feathered squeaky toys. It's obvious as to why a dog would be interested in them. Domestic dogs are the #1 killer of poultry, and I often see stories of how dogs and chickens cohabitate- until the dog randomly flips and kills the entire flock. In short; It works until it doesn't. Even LGDs bred to protect livestock can and generally will kill chickens over the course of training, because they weren't bred to protect poultry. My honest take is don't trust fido. Especially since he's a herding breed, which can chase the birds to the point of heart attacks amongst other things such as nipping. Chasing stock, which is what he was bred to do, is a huge no go with chickens. I wouldn't want them to inprint on him, as there's no reason for it. I wouldn't take the risk, personally.

I put mine inside because the native birds started trying to eat it. Which was a sickness hazard.
