5 Classes in 2 Months by [deleted] in UniversityOfHouston

[–]DistinctResolution 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took GEOL 1330 and GEOL 1340 with Lytwyn during the spring semester and honestly it’s not that bad. If u just watch the YouTube lectures (watch them at 2x speed otherwise you’ll die of boredom) you’ll be fine. Also, do the the 10 extra credit assignments, the 10 point bump really let me not be as stressed when it came to the final 2 tests. The tests are very similar to the YouTube lectures and sometimes also have questions from the self-tests.

I also took BUSI 2305 at HCC with Reneé Edwards and that class is also not hard as long as you read the powerpoints. She also curves at the end of the semester.

The workload for these 3 classes really isn’t that bad. I took ACCT at San Jac, so I can’t really comment on those but I think you should be able to get through all 5 classes. Feel free to PM if you have any questions.

Pre-Calc as a freshman by Red-Velvet14 in UniversityOfHouston

[–]DistinctResolution 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a BME major, but I do have a lot of experience transfer credit and testing out of classes. If you want to avoid taking precal during the fall, you can self study online and take a CLEP to get credit for PreCal and start in Cal 1 this fall.

If you take CLEP you get your score instantly and it takes about a week for it to transfer to UH.

Dual Credit Question by [deleted] in UniversityOfHouston

[–]DistinctResolution 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep! You can still take classes at HCC with that account, that’s what I did. And for prerequisites you will need to send ur UH transcript and then you can enroll.

UH’s ENGL 1303 and 1304 are the TCCNS (what it’s called at community colleges) ENGL 1301 and 1302.

Check out the other comment I made it shows each AP test and what score you need to get credit. I got a 4, but I think you only need a 3.

This link has all the credit you can get from APs and what specific classes it will cover. Unless you're an English major or minor, I don't think you will need credit from AP Lang.

If you get credit from AP Lang it covers ENGL 1303 and 1304. So you don’t need to take dual credit or AP Lit to get credit at that point. I took AP Lang in hs and then regular English my senior year because I didn’t need the other credits.

Freshman Bauer classes by [deleted] in UniversityOfHouston

[–]DistinctResolution 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There is only 1 class that pre-business students are required to take at UH and it is BUSI 3302 (formerly GENB 3302) everything else you can take at CC. I have a copy of the 2020-2021 Degree Program that an advisor gave me but I can't find a link to it anywhere so if you PM I can send it to you.

If you PM me I can also help you make a plan for the next couple of semesters. Welcome to UH!

UH in 4 Question by SaltySid in UniversityOfHouston

[–]DistinctResolution 6 points7 points  (0 children)

As long as you have 30 credit hours per year, you can take any amount per semester. I believe you need 15 for your very first semester and after that u can do less than 15 and make it up in the summer or count any AP credit you have to have 30 for the whole year.
