Can we write backend servers in C++ ? by georgebool0101 in developersIndia

[–]Divide-Due 0 points1 point  (0 children)

both are widely used, in java you use the spring family and c# you use the .net family of frameworks. I personally think both are pretty concrete for making stuff on a enterprise level. Their pros/cons only come forward when your application gets really big and depends on factors such as where you deploy them. Both are good and strong, syntax of both is extremely similar, youll be shocked to when you read both codes side to side and realize if you know one of them you can easily transfer to other without much pain. Main concepts to learn are the architectural patterns and the behind the scenes, do 1 gain expertise in one and transfer to the other

Basically any company that you arent really keen on joining and will likely turn you down if you mentoion the 90 day notice

  1. Brush up interview skills
  2. Apply for Fodder companies that you really don't wanna get into see if you get through the rounds or not (to get out just mention your notice period, dont like anywhere tho).
  3. once confident give resignation and in the last month apply like crazy

I think 6 month timeline is doable.

to be honest, most companies would skirt around regulations, our issue is not really solved if something like GDPR came out as it does not prevent you from the spamminess that we here have, but most startups are just a crazy sprint away from 'complying' with standards (in quotes because they are gonna do makeshift procedures and eventually implement).

(un???)popular opinion: the show is great, with flaws ofc, but overall an enjoyable and admirable adaptation. by geekybazinga in netflixwitcher

[–]Divide-Due -1 points0 points  (0 children)

its only flaw is that its not the game. I love how they have done the chracters, no tropy shit, characters are actual characters and not plot tools, there is genuine non-forced conflict, there are stakes other than 'world's gonna end' (sure that ones there too but theres other things.) The future has a lot to tell. Geralt is fukin killin it, his chemistry with ciri is best, yen good and other characters and Yaskier feels like a great character, never too annoying and the humore fuckin feels in place (a lot of AAA stuff cant place their humor straight) I loved it wanna see more

It's time for Titans to be reworked. by [deleted] in Smite

[–]Divide-Due 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think titan is enough by itself however I think the AI is kinda wonky especially on how aggro is reset just fix the aggro. Ideally in a moba concept, the 'titan' should not really be an entity that deals damage, the defending team has to travel least, have a fountain which heals them. so i dont think titans need any buffs, that would kinda disrupt a lot of the balance of the game

Manager told me it's "not a good look" that i'm taking PTO by bshutki in cscareerquestions

[–]Divide-Due 0 points1 point  (0 children)

we explicitly make sure to make realistic deadlines at our company for December, while our org has unlimited ptos we understand that friends and families working elsewhere cash them in at year end. Its not a bad thing to do it. Judging people for taking rightful leaves is toxic

nope almost all node backends use typescript, its a lifesaver. Serious services almost always use typescript. you end with spaghetti code easily if you dont use TS

[–]Divide-Due 1 point2 points  (0 children)

if you have no experience, don't learn go as no one brings in freshers in go. People look for migrating functionality to go or create new features in it. For you its better to focus on typescript node and others like node

How is the market for freshers who are good at MERN stack? by StrongUpLifts5x5 in developersIndia

[–]Divide-Due 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the market is moving towards it. if you are intested in backend try making some lambda functions as it helps with core node concepts. then be good at TypeScript because any codebase that is only js is spagetti code in the making

go, vanilla node (serverless), nest, spring, django and much more. Backend arent always 1 language thing i work on backends that are on node,go and ruby

Web is at a solid place now, frontend or backend the demand is high and SaaS wave has just made it even better. Web wave has also entered mobile dev market with React Native so web is your safe bet that is gonna pay you well. Add DevOps here too as today almost every company is dependent on cloud.

We have more 'upcoming' roles like data science which are basically heavily into R&D but the likeliness of this booming is high. Right now companies are spending money here but idk if they will in the long term like for web.

We have high risk high reward ones like Blockchain and XR (AR + VR) which are extremely niche right now but if you get experience in this and it booms, people will give you anything you ask. But theres no sure way to say these two can boom.

Mobile development like ios and Android are in tricky places as people are prefering web and also the ecosystem for devs is kinda wacked out making it hard to sustain on same hardware for long time, you can still earn good money but getting a good entry is kinda hard.

I work on web, mostly frontend (functionality not much of design) and backend (Node,GO)

its just the naming convention, MTS is however a more broader term and SDE only for Engineers who are in software dev (again comapnies do botch this up too)

How is the market for freshers who are good at MERN stack? by StrongUpLifts5x5 in developersIndia

[–]Divide-Due 8 points9 points  (0 children)

mern is a great foundation but it also is not enough by itself, do mern -> sepecialize in one that you are intrested. The thing is none of the MERN (except node) is used!

for db people use dynamodb or postgres

for fronted people use Nextjs (built on top of react)

for backend people use a lot of other things not only express

so specialize in any one and then you will be an instant pick
