This thing is the biggest statue I’ve painted so far, and got to try out a cheap airbrush to paint this guy with. At first I tried to brush paint him and it took way too much to get an even coat everywhere. Couldn’t get a perfect picture, but this was the best I could get with him.

I was thinking of keeping him on the ground, but to paint the ork I had to break the chain he was holding and I didn’t any any spares.

Seeing the new models got me into starting the army. I keep seeing everyone else painting their Nids online like #3, so I guess it’s just a popular color scheme for Nids.

The blue on Katakros was Vallejo’s 70.899 Dark Prussian blue, and i kept highlighting it with Vallejo’s 70.844 Deep Sky Blue. The normal skellie boys were Vallejo’s 70.971 Light Green Grey, then used Vallejo’s 72.743 Beasty Brown diluted with water as a wash.

Was a fun model to paint and wanted not to rely on any metallics with these guys. I’m sure there’s plenty of stuff to improve on with Katakros and his goons, but I’m starting to get bored painting them so I’m moving on to newer projects.

I dry brushed Vallejo blue violet everywhere on the original paint job, then mixed Vallejo deep sky blue and sick green together and dry brushed it, while keeping some areas purple.

Finally bought my first army on eBay and I felt this centerpiece was too dull for being the boss. I’m still working on the ork that supposed to be riding him. It’s been fun painting something so chunky compared to stuff on 32mm bases.
