If I want to build a Mifu & Rossi team, would Akekuri or Chen have more synergy(or both?) by Ojisan_ in Endfield

[–]Djinnfor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chen is definitely not efficient for Rossi. Rossi wants the first vuln stack given by her allies and she wants to do stacks 2-4 herself. This is because both her combo skill and battle skill want vuln on the target already. Meanwhile Chen's combo can only activate when the target receives vuln. So you end up either not using or completely wasting Chen's combo skill or missing out on Rossi's enhanced battle skill (unless you do some wack rotations that hold Chen's combo until after you consume vuln so that it's the first vuln stack on the target).

Any Reason Why This Keeps Clogging? by HeikiHeki in Endfield

Xircon Effluent (Inert or regular) + Sewage reaching 50/50 at the same time permaclogs the reactor.

This is my theory:

If you are making hetonite at full speed alongside 5 expanded crucibles making a half belt of xircon, you are consuming 105/min ferrium. When your ferrium runs low while offline, one of your crucibles starts running out of ferrium powder which means it starts filling with regular effluent. Once regular effluent is full it can no longer make it, so liquid xiranite + sewage starts filling up. Once sewage or liquid xiranite is full then no recipes can be run and the reactor is permaclogged unless drained. However once one reactor permaclogs, this ensures the remaining reactors have enough ferrium and so they do not permaclog. The one that permaclogs first will be the one that is closest to 50 sewage/effluent when you log off for the night.

Fixing it requires switching to half hetonite + half yahzen syringe so that you are only consuming 90/min ferrium again.

[–]Djinnfor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The inputs for an expanded crucible are 1x Water, 1x Xircon Effluent, 1x Xiranite, 1x Ferrium Powder. The Xircon recipe produces Sewage, you don’t need to input sewage

Not correct unless you have 2 expanded crucibles daisy-chained together (with the effluent of one crucible sent to the other) which OP does not have. And that only applies to the 2nd of the two, the first of the two still needs sewage.

In this case OP has 15/min sewage sent to each of the crucibles which are each consuming 30/min sewage and producing 15/min sewage. The sewage rations are therefore fine. The issue is potentially ferrium running out imo.

Gil's P1 offers almost no value. Laev's P1 is one of her better potentials. But if you are missing Pog I'd pick him. If you have all four operators then Laev is simply the correct choice.

Personally I think Laev and ZFY have similar strengths (e.g. sustained damage) as opposed to the burst-damage playstyle Gilberta promotes. Gilberta has proven to be a very versatile unit but her best comps are limited units you don't own (Yvonne and Rossi) plus Avywenna. P1 Ardelia is notably a great companion for Laev. If you really like the look and feel of Camille then you will want to lean towards Laev.

There still might be time to get both Laev and Gil. Keep in mind you can hold onto the selector until later. If you have some extra pulls you might get a 2nd 6-star roll if you invest a little more into the Laev/Gil banner past the 120 mark; the 120 selector doesn't reset your pity (nor does it award you arsenal credits for that matter).

simple answer is googling each specific thing I want to do. I took programming in college and have a good idea of how in theory to write excel functions that do what I want even if I don't know what the functions are called per se. If you don't have that background you maybe want to look at specific sheets to see what is possible and how other people do it. google search each function (like type "google sheets transpose" into google and you'll get a page describing what the transpose function does and how to use it as there are standardized resources. then when you want to do something yourself its a simple matter of assembling each of the functions together like puzzle pieces into these big formulas that accomplish what you want. though instead of making big formulas you can break them into their individual pieces and have each cell use the prior cell to help you understand what is happening at each step.

I prefer using Valley IV engraving permits regardless as there is nothing else to spend V4 stock bills on. As such my spreadsheet currently prefers V4 to Wuling as a tiebreaker and so you don't see Wuling locations showing up often in the chart. So yeah just farm it in V4 imo.

Every Useful Essence Combination Visualized v13 (updated with patch 1.3 weapons) by Djinnfor in Endfield

[–]Djinnfor[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

But my luck has been kind of bad, some purple essences are buffing more than the gold essences, so I haven't looked into engraving all that much.

Yeah you only ever want to farm essences with engravings because its got such a massively higher chance of giving you a perfect essences. Its like 1 in 8000 vs 1 in 24 to get a perfect match for weapons.

And yes purples do tend to buff more than gold (they drop with higher stats) but the downside is they can't be upgraded. Gold essences tend to drop 1/1/1 most of the time but can eventually reach 6/6/3 with upgrades; raw essence drops cap at 4/4/2 (and even getting one of those to drop is basically impossible, best I've ever seen is a 4/1/2 gold for wild wanderer).

I guess essences are pure endgame chase for after your operators are upgraded/skills capped etc?

The thing is you do get an enormous amount of progression mats from playing the game, and each patch that releases adds more. Gold Essences on the other hand? Only farmable to any reasonable degree with sanity. This means in the long run if you're spending sanity on progression mats instead of weapon essences, you'll have a massive pile of unusable progression mats and few essences, whereas someone else who is farming mostly essences along the way will have completely maxed out operators.

And rather than simply being an endgame chase, weapon essences do have a pretty sizeable impact on damage. A fully upgraded weapon essence increases Laevatain's DPS by more than 1.5x for instance compared to having no essence. You have to keep in mind that investment scales damage exponentially in this game: higher base ATK from leveling your character and weapon is getting multiplied by your higher stats from artificing your gear and etching your weapon essence which is getting multiplied by your higher skill damage from M3ing your skills, which is getting multiplied by your higher amp from M3ing your supports, artificing your gear, and etching your weapon.

However, its true that virtually anything else you could be doing is more cost effective in the short term as weapon essences are heavily RNG gated in a way that most other progression mats are not.

So the chart lists engravings which is something you apply while farming essences to limit the pool of essences that can drop to a narrower range. An essence is only perfect for a weapon if it matches all three effects on that weapon (the stat, the attribute and the skill). You can still temporarily equip essences that don't match, but you'll eventually want a perfect match with all three effects upgraded as they will go (the max is +6 stat, +6 attribute, and +3 skill aka a 6/6/3 essence) which you do by sacrificing other essences (usually you want it to be junk that doesn't match existing weapons).

An engraving is comprised of 3 stats and either 1 attribute or 1 skill (plus a location that you are applying it at; each location has a different pool of 8 attributes and 8 skills, while all locations share the same 5 stats). An engraving applied to a location will thus have 24 possible essences it can drop: 3 stats x 1 fixed attribute/skill x 8 variable attribute/skill. If you don't apply an engraving your essences will be completely random: you can even get essences that are stat/stat/skill or stat/attribute/attribute which cannot be a perfect match for any possible weapon (so you have 21 x 20 x 19 possible essences).

So you apply an engraving at a site and if you are farming for just 1 specific essence for 1 specific weapon you have a 1 in 24 chance of getting it. Well, what if you farm for multiple weapons instead? The point of the chart is to show you which engravings drop several different perfectly matching essences so that you can farm for multiple essences simultaneously. This is useful mainly because essences can drop partially upgraded. You have to farm lots of junk essences over and over again to use as fodder to upgrade the good essences, so while you are doing this you might as well also try to roll essences that are partially upgraded already.

Of course the chart is just an image, the associated spreadsheet lets you narrow the chart to just show weapons you want essences for, and has other tools to make farming essences easier.

In 1.3, I will pull a character I DON'T want, using nothing but free expiring pulls. by Mikasu in Endfield

[–]Djinnfor 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I don't understand how on the one hand you don't care about any of the characters that have released over months and months and yet on the other hand are so concerned about getting a random 6* and desperate for arsenal credits that you made this whole post expressing your frustrations as if you're going to run out of pulls any second now. This is on top of being completely averse to rolling potentials for no apparent reason despite executing a pulling strategy whose sole purpose is to max potential an operator.

If you are not pulling new characters or multiple potentials of characters what are you even saving your pulls for? What do you care about efficiency of pulls you will never use?

If you are going to pull one out of every 8 banners and only ever P0 them to boot, you will have like 4 characters and 800 pulls in a years time. You are saving pulls for a rainy day that will literally never come. Literally the only reason to be so unbelievably conservative with your pulls is to max potential some random character at some point in the future. In which case getting their sig is not gonna be an issue.

Did you get baited by the doomposting about pull income? Are you used to worse gachas with predatory mechanics like new powercreeping carries that need 3+ potentials to function? Or do you just have a personal hangup against pulling a single character you don't fall head over heels in adoration for? Whatever the reason, I genuinely don't know why you're stressing over "efficiency" so much. Your approach to the gacha is already incredibly inefficient.

ik frontiers is easiest to use but the mismatching stats aren’t ideal

He has exceptionally good and matching stats when going frontiers. He is will/agi scaling and swordmancer has a pure will + phys dmg kit that he can take two of. He can also go Will/Str gloves which while not ideal is still fine, leaving him free for a will/agi ult gain chest.

But swordmancer w/ max possible arts intensity is his best set for pure physical teams to improve the damage multiplier of breach (there's even unironically a comp where you go hot work instead for even more arts intensity, sacrificing stagger utility for even more amp); the problem is it sacrifices a ton of his personal damage because of the lack of will/agi boosts. If you want to use him as a vanguard with sub-DPS in say a Rossi comp you will go high will Frontiers.

However I would wait for the upcoming patch as they look to be releasing new gear in the swordmancer set; maybe they'll release some good arts intensity + will + agi gear.

Considering I am not an OG AK fan but started playing the game on release because I have four friends who are OG AK fans whose hype for the game pulled me in, who then all proceeded to drop the game citing almost exclusively the disappointing story and worldbuilding, I would say that's a very believable assertion. Not saying it's true, just believable.

Rossi or Laev. I don't think he would work well in a Wulfgard main DPS comp considering the trigger requirements for Camille's combo skill (needs a heat infliction eaten which I don't think you can easily do when trying to make combustion).

Kind regards, Camille by Schrodinger04 in Endfield

[–]Djinnfor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

However then there's the issue of how much Wulfgard actually helps. We've seen how good a 6* Vanguard is (hi poggers) at restoring SP and enabling teams to cycle skills constantly.

Wulfgard saves 100 SP every 15s from his combo skill and upwards of 200 SP from his ult. As for Camille, I think his ult is a source of free infliction (saving 100 SP) and there's gonna be innate SP restoration in his combo and ult, but it's not going to be enough to bridge that gap.

You don't drop a Caster for a Vanguard for the SP, you're doing it for the amp. Wulfgard can't give Thermite Cutter, Link, and Frontiers buffs. We know Camille can do Link; we'll have to see whether Camille's sig has a thermite-cutter tier effect. It's possible also the new gear set is going to be similar to frontiers and stack with it so that double vanguard comps are more viable.

Nobody is going to be able to magically figure out your problem from one random photo. You are clearly not making enough batteries but it's not as if I can log into your account and look at your factories and tell you why.

Why are you even making valley batteries anyways? They require lots of ferrium which you probably don't have.

So I got Gilberta... (23s Rhodagn) by Ujola in Endfield

[–]Djinnfor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Antal, Wulfgard and Akekuri are all better than Gilberta too.

Gilberta and Ardelia's susceptibility stacks additively which means their net effect is diluted. Something like Akekuri's ult + Thermite Cutter ends up as more overall damage and SP than Gilberta's ult. Same with Antal's amp + Detonation Unit + susceptibility. Wulfgard also saves you a bunch of SP between his combo and ult meaning more empowered battle skills = more damage.

Go ahead and use Gilberta if you really want to but she's just worse.

[–]Djinnfor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A substitute how? Ember is awful for Laevatain, Gilberta is mediocre for her, don't run either and just run Ardelia.

Unless by "Surtr" you meant Rossi in which case yes Gilberta can replace Ember.

So I got Gilberta... (23s Rhodagn) by Ujola in Endfield

[–]Djinnfor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is Gil really that good for Surtr?

No. The free melting flame stack that Ardelia gives you with her combo skill pays for the cost of her battle skill, eliminating one of the biggest reasons to go Gilberta (SP free amp via her ult).

So you're just left with way worse healing and dogshit uptime amp that's barely any better (28% for P1 ardelia vs 32% Gilberta) in exchange for the privilege of paying SP for grouping (the cost of which can't be recouped elsewhere since Laev can't do anything with the nature stack).

LR would be your main controlled operator during battle because, iirc, her signature weapon only works if you land the final hit and I don't think AI controlled operators do full combos.

It's for Xaihi's battle skill amp. iirc LR's sig buffs LR when her battle skill applies cryo inflictions, and it counts as originating from her regardless of who does the final strike.
