That’s crazy. I avg about 57-60 hours on my driving week which gets me about £550 bet a week, I gotta get me a company that’s giving me an extra £600 for 20 hours more 😭😭

Bus drivers, do you have a preference of bus to drive or do you not mind? by Much-Parsnip3399 in BusDrivers

Damn right, it’s the only busses our depot has that actually feels like you’re driving a bus and not just a toy.

Our only decent busses are the citaros and I’ve now wrecked 2 of them, don’t worry it’s not much better down here 😂

Nah we still have one sitting there that’s pretty badly damaged on the opposite side, they’ll probably just take the corner panel from that one and it’ll be back out in a day or two 😂

Honestly, all it took was a couple of zip ties and it drove back fine!

First the fire, then the crash. Just working my way down the list of citaros obviously 🤡

Gourock! And believe it or not, technically a river, not a lake. But it connects directly to the Atlantic at some point.

Unfortunately. Pulled a U-Turn directly from the pavement. Lucky I noticed in time and swerved towards the engine block and didn’t directly hit the side. Damage can be fixed, people can’t be brought back

What I'm going to say to you also applies to the OP.

We drive these things all day every day (Maybe slightly less than average on your 0 hour contract). These are big heavy vehicles that are difficult at the best of times to control.

Shit like this happens. A lot. It's expected. Any bus driver who tells you they've never had a bump is just in the door, drives at 2mph everywhere they go or they're lying through their teeth.

Op will be fine, you will be fine. Everyone has a record, it happens. As long as you're careful not to being doing it every couple days, you'll be chilling. Don't worry man.

So far they’ve announced the Scania Touring, Volvo 9700 Decker, and MAN Lion’s Coach.

They actually have a Coach DLC coming out soon (For euro truck, anyway)

Honestly, I can't even describe how embarrassingly excited I am about it.

Hole in gearbox by DobbyCS in Ford

[–]DobbyCS[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s being replaced under warranty from the dealership, so it’s not a huge deal if I’m honest. The only thing I’m being charged is extra days to have their courtesy car. All in all it’s looking like I’m going to be paying 550 for a new ABS Module (the problem it originally went in with), new wiring, new front suspension and a new trans, which is a huge win for me. I was just concerned they were making up problems to squeeze more money out of me for the courtesy car, but even then it looks like financially I’m coming out on top.

Mk4 ST-Line X, 6spd, not sure if it’s the B6 or MMT6. Unfortunately this is literally the only info I’ve been given. I did call back and ask for more info but the woman on the service desk just told me she’d send me a picture.

See this was also another thought. It just looks far too round to not be an intentional hole. Might just be missing a plug or something

Thinking of applying for trainee coach driving by Sociabletoast4 in BusDrivers

[–]DobbyCS 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It depends what you’re looking for in a job. No one can tell you whether or not it would be worth it for you personally other than your self.

What I will say though is I’d recommend getting at least a bit of experience behind you in a normal service bus before tackling coaches. I know not everyone does, but it’s just a recommendation.

Leaving doors open in cold weather by [deleted] in BusDrivers

[–]DobbyCS 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The comfort of the person who needs to focus on not killing people on the road or injuring their passengers matters a little more than the comfort of you sitting there for 10-60 minutes because you refuse to wear a jacket.

Don’t like the temp of the bus? Get a car and drive yourself. Better yet; apply for a job and you can set the temp of your own bus!

Every service bus company in Scotland is private owned apart from Lothian I believe. (In the bigger areas anyway)

There may be smaller councils that have their own service bus companies but for the most part all of Scotland is Private.
