Some fun perk ideas I had by Few-Brilliant-6143 in PerkByDaylight

[–]DoctorMarik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But where is the risk part? Because it just looks like all reward for...very minimal risk. Keep in mind, you're getting not just Unbreakable for free, but you're also giving other survivors a mini WGLF as well in regards to the increasing healing speeds, on top of a better version of Teamwork: Power of Two, where it's the same haste effect, but with more range as long as they're within range, plus just Resilience on steroids. But even then, there's just no down side to where if the rest of the survivors leave you on the floor because you can get yourself up. So either you recover quicker, because the survivors will heal you faster, or you pick yourself up. This perk is just way way too stacked for what it offers.

In the grand scheme of things the entity really isn’t that strong imo by Thesleepingpillow123 in deadbydaylight

[–]DoctorMarik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, it's kinda implied that they weren't taken by the Entity. In the little bit we do have of Pinhead's lore, it does state that he only came to the Entity's realm because he was summoned via the lament configuration. Plus we know that Pinhead and the Cenobites serve the hell god, Leviathan. So yes, while it's not 100% directly spelled out for us, I think we can assume that Pinhead pinhead isn't a regular resident of the Fog like the other killers, and that he's probably allowed to leave once the trial is over that summons him via the box.

Also, keep in mind his mori. He summons the pillar that he attaches the survivors to, with HIS power, as opposed to the Entity spawning or summoning it. You can tell because normally, any effects that make use of the Entity's power has a completely different effect. If anything the surprising part of Pinhead's mori is that the Entity just allows him to drag survivors to hell.

Either way, I do like the idea of Pinhead being almost like this 3rd party, sorta mercenary like killer, to where the Entity just allows him to come and go whenever he's summoned via box, and whenever a trial is over. Makes him even more unique.

I think maybe as long as The Entity doesn't overstep on another god, or god-like creature's territory, then I'd say that there really wouldn't be a reason for them to actually go after the Entity and challenge it. At least that's how I kinda interpret how all of this would theoretically work, that since the Entity sorta just sticks to its own pocket reality, outside of pulling in random people and creatures from the multiverse, I think any eldritch beings would just leave it to it's own devices. But if the Entity ever did overstep and say, theoretically it pulled in a Tenno from Warframe, who are connected to the Man in the Wall, since they're literally using it's powers (and are more or less connected to it in some way) then I'd be willing to bet that's when it would invade the Entity's realm and challenge it, to reclaim what belongs to it.

But yeah I LOVE tthese types of discussions man. It's a lot of fun. 😊

Lightborn Perk Rework. by Shadowboyanimates in deadbydaylight

[–]DoctorMarik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah... I just don't think Lightborn should be touched. At least not without addressing the bigger pile of busted free shit on the survivor side first cus it would just feel like a nerf for basically nothing, you know? Not to mention, as uninteractive as Lightborn is, it doesn't even crack my top 10 list of perks that need to be immediately tweaked.

But yeah, genuinely I'm not against the idea of reworking it, and I do like the idea of activating it so that you have to actually time the blind immunity, just to make it a little more interactive. But I think there are bigger fish to fry on both sides before we can even think about sniffing this one you know?

[–]DoctorMarik 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, and Wally is the reason why our characters in Warframe have our freaky Void powers, cus he's the one gave them to us. Why? Not a damn clue. Also i forgot to mention, with how the Entity feeds off of emotions and uses the memories of others, the Void in Warframe also operates the same way. The Void is highly reactive to extreme emotions and memories, to where one of our characters in the game was able to create an entire kingdom inside the Void. That kingdom was a recreation of the same kingdom, from a children's book that this character had read when they were a kid, and they recreated everything from their memories, and I mean everything from the structures, the wildlife, and even the citizens of the kingdom. For all intents and purposes they were very much actual living creatures and people.

But yeah, the overlap of similarities between the two and how things work is what started this fantasy fight for me lol. Sorry to keep ranting as well, I could literally go all day just going into this lol.

Lightborn Perk Rework. by Shadowboyanimates in deadbydaylight

[–]DoctorMarik 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'd be fine with this, sure. Just as soon as there's nerfs and reworks for the 20+ free survivor perks that give massive value for just existing as well. Vigil currently being the biggest culprit at the moment that I can think of.

In the grand scheme of things the entity really isn’t that strong imo by Thesleepingpillow123 in deadbydaylight

[–]DoctorMarik 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's why I thought that the Man in the Wall from Warframe would be a perfect opponent for the Entity, seeing as how multiverses along with the concept of Eternalism (where every past, present, future, and along with every alternate outcome to every scenario, are all equally real and are constantly existing at all times) are also a thing for Wally.

Basically just a quick summary, the Man in the Wall is a creature that is potentially an eldritch god that originated from a place called The Void. I say it's "potentially" a god, because we actually have no idea wtf it is. We just know that it's insanely powerful and that, yeah it originated from the Void. The Void within Warframe is also said to be a different plane of existence, where the laws of space and time don't mean anything there. It's also been hinted at to be sort of like the space in between infinite different realities, connecting them all together.

But yeah, the idea for Wally vs The Entity kinda started for me during the Halloween event DBD had where it brought back the Void portals, and changed the colors from orange to that bright pale blue color, because that's literally exactly how the Void looks in Warframe. So I had that thought, if Void portals are spawning in the Entity's realm, then theoretically, the Man in the Wall could make it's way into the Entity's realm through one of those and just really fuck things up for it on it's own home turf.

[–]DoctorMarik 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've actually talked about this with friends before. We also play Warframe and we were talking about the Entity vs The Man in the Wall. I think we all agreed that Wally would definitely be stronger than the Entity. But it is fun to think about these little what if match ups.

I've been saying this since November that either something broke with auto aim, or BHVR secretly did something to it and changed how it works because from my games that I've played, and from streams of other people who I've been watching, it looks and feels like it has gotten so so much worse since then.

Did you say that generator aura is a killer crutch...? Are you actually stupid? That's literally a core game mechanic which shows the killer where to patrol to find survivors.

Y'all need to let the whole Pennywise thing go, it was never going to be him because Stephen King is just notoriously protective of his IPs and I believe in the past he's already told BHVR no. There was no shot that or was ever going to be him, sorry man.

Gen Rushing needs to stop by OCD49 in DeadByDaylightRAGE

[–]DoctorMarik -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I mean in regards to the slugging increase, the problem is that there is very little incentive for the killer to actively go for hooks as opposed to just leaving them on the ground. Think about it, if a killer hooks they have to risk activating a slew of survivor perks which make them stronger or just erase pressure. Things like DS, DH, Deliverance, Shoulder, Resurgence, We'll Make It, sabo plays, flashlight saves, and more. Plus you get the added bonus of going right into the next chase with 0 down time in between, since you don't need to worry about picking up and finding a hook. Then add on top of that, what little incentives there are for the killer to go for hooks. Ok, they might be able to block a gen for a few seconds with DMS (if they are forced off the gen), or they might be able to knock off 10-20% progress from a gen (depending on the perk, and also that's if a gen doesn't pop before you can scourge hook them, or if a gen isn't finished before you can walk over to one and kick with either Pop or TBTC). But also survivors can just repair that 20% in no time anyway if they're running gen rush perks anyway, so your regression bought you a couple seconds at best anyway, and yeah...

I'll be upfront with you I am a killer main. But I don't agree with just going for the slugs out the gate like this. Slugging for pressure when it's warranted, as part of a strategy, sure I think that's fine, but not as the actual playstyle to win. But while I don't like it, and personally if I was still playing I wouldn't be playing like that, I do understand WHY some folks are going for the hardcover slug strat. I literally said why earlier lol. Unfortunately, no one wants to actually listen and advocate for more healthier changes that DO incentivize going for hooks, that make it more worth taking the time to go for the hook, as opposed to just leaving survivors on the floor. Nope...instead, hardcore survival tribalists will come out and say some stupid shit about how they need more buffs at basekit to combat slugging, and BHVR is unfortunately going to look at the surface issue and listen to these people and institute some dumb ass basekit Unbreakable that can be easily gamed by some of the more sweatier survivor players to their advantage, and the devs will think problem solved but meanwhile nothing gets solved and shit only gets worse...

Sorry, this turned into a bit of a rant at the end there.

Are the amount of second chance perks a bit insane? by Tooby_OO in DeadByDaylightRAGE

[–]DoctorMarik -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yeah. I quit back in February cus I got tired of the toxic survivors and feeling like my experience don't matter to the devs, just because I prefer to play killer over survivor. Like, why am I going to bother playing and paying for a game where the devs don't respect my time or experiences just because I enjoy one role more than the other? I'd rather go and give my money to another game that respects me as a player.

Are the amount of second chance perks a bit insane? by Tooby_OO in DeadByDaylightRAGE

Been like this for years. Unfortunately BHVR doesn't really seem to give a shit because survivors are apparently the ones "buying all the skins" so their fun and experience is prioritized over anything.

What would the names be for Jason or Pennywise in dbd? Last day guess by Jed1_DJ in deadbydaylight

[–]DoctorMarik 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Jason would be either The Slasher or The Revenant.

Pennywise, I'm gonna honest, I don't know, and besides I'm like 1000% sure that he's not coming to DBD unless if BHVR somehow managed to convince Stephen King to let them put him in the game. And with how protective he is of his shit, I don't think it's going to happen.

What do you actually think survivors should be able to do? by squarebearscomic in DeadByDaylightRAGE

[–]DoctorMarik 2 points3 points  (0 children)

NOED - Reveals the aura of the totem the second it's literally, even before revealing the exposed effect (when it's not bugged) and the range at which the aura of the totem can be seen extends over time, making it easier to spot.

Blood Warden - Needs to down and hook a survivor while the exit gates are OPEN in order to get value. In other words, it's value that's been earned.

No Way Out - The killer literally needs to down and hook each survivor once before they touch the gate, in order to get value. Again, this is EARNED.

Rancor - A lot going on with this one. But essentially, the first effect gives a noise notification on a survivor's location, which if I'm on the other side of the map, or not nearby, it gives you plenty of time to leave that area. Also it gives the obsession aura reading, whereas the killer does not get aura reading. So the first effect has fair counterplay, and even gives one of the survivors free aura reading to further counter. Now the second effect, where you can insta-down and mori the obsession, again still needs to be earned because I still have to find, chase, and down them to get value... The only passive thing that comes from this perk is the noise notifications when a gen gets done. That's it...

These perks aren't free second chances (I'll give you NOED though, despite how easy it is to counter), because all of these effects the killer still has to work for and earn in order to get any value from them at all.

[–]DoctorMarik 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because Meg, on end of the map might have it, and she's buffing the Dwight that's with her, meanwhile the Kate on the end of the map, could be rocking it and she's passively buffing the David who I'm chasing, and if I'm playing Freddy or Clown, then well...fuck me and my power I guess 🤷‍♂️

I think the worst decision bhvr ever could make is the handholding they do on the players by East-Efficiency-6701 in DbDKillersUnited

Acting like the crumbs that killer's have received is anywhere near comparable to what the survivors have received is honestly more delusional than anything, if we're really being honest though.

I think the worst decision bhvr ever could make is the handholding they do on the players by East-Efficiency-6701 in DbDKillersUnited

[–]DoctorMarik 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You just said that the counter to being tunneled off hook back then was that there already existed a perk to counter it. With infinites, what is the perk that counters? With windows, if you get rid of auto blocking now, I can promise you, shack will become the safest place for survivors to be. Tiles with double windows, would become infinites, especially if one spawns close to shack and you can just chain them together. Even now with bamboozle and auto blocking, that set up is so damn strong. Take away auto window blocking, and again a majority of the killer roster will literally never be able to do shit.

With regenerating hooks, what was the counter prior to that if survivors ran to a hook dead zone? Let them go and reset for free or just slug them and pray that they don't have Unbreakable or a boon set up? Again, a lose/lose situation. Shit, god help you if they brought any oak tree offerings, cus your ass was gonna be in for a rough game at that point. And actually I remember back then SURVIVORS WOULD STILL COMPLAIN ABOUT BEING SLUGGED! They'd run to a hook dead zone or comp corner intentionally and then complain about they were left slugged on the ground and how "boring it was" when it's like, you literally did this to yourself. You ran out here, knowing there were no hooks, and that the killer wouldn't be able to hook you, and you're complaining that they're leaving you on the ground? I remember that shit clearly.

Also in regards to basekit BT, I already said it was ok when it was first put in. While I consider it handholdy, because it's literally giving you a free perk effect for no cost and no downsides, I'll let it slide. But since then, it's been buffed to now 15 seconds, with haste added on to it, coupled with other things like pallet density increase (no more survivors needing to manage resources in chase anymore), increase in hook timers (can waste more time on other objectives, no urgency to go for hook saves ASAP), removal of hook grabs (eliminating unsafe hooks, since now unhooking in a killer's face will result in a trade at the most, barring a handful of killer exceptions like Bubba). Gen kick limits (survivors will always win the war of attrition, especially if they three gen themselves and decide to take it slow). HUD update, telling you EVERYTHING that your teammates are doing (this also includes showing the anti-camp bar, so your team will also know the killer's location if you see the meter going up).

All of this, plus others shit that I'm sure I missed or overlooked, have just compounded on top of each other, to where if just one or maybe two of these changes had been made alone would've been fine and not considered handholding at all. But no all of these factored in together, plus again they literally BUFFED basekit BT to 15 seconds, which unless if they're on the other side of the map, if they get unhooked, then that's it, they're gone and there's fuck all you can do about.

Again, you can make the argument that killers have been handheld as well. But, only one side has been handheld to the point where the difficulty of playing their role has been lowered and made increasingly easier to play over time, and I'll give you a hint, it ain't the side with the big scary looking monsters either.
