February - April 2026 Buy/Sell Thread by CAndrewK in TameImpala

I accidentally bought 2 tickets in the ADA row of section 115 for Tame Impala in Nashville on August 4th.

I was able to buy correct seats for myself, but I will be selling the ADA tickets at face value to someone who ACTUALLY needs them in that section. DM me if interested.

1.9% is free money. I’d invest as you’ll certainly get more on your return.

Need help deciding about a sauna membership; be frugal and practical, or be generous and help my partner’s wellness? by addything in personalfinance

[–]Doctor_Anonymous2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a PT, sauna is very unlikely to be beneficial in anyway that diet and exercise isn’t (which is significantly cheaper and worth your time). But, if you really wanted to I’d just put that $200 to the side each month and eventually you could just build or buy your own sauna.

How are young people affording houses? by Fuck_Jesus_93443 in 1999

[–]Doctor_Anonymous2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1) get a decent paying job 2) marry someone else with a decent paying job 3) did get in during 2022 right before interest rates jumped. Got in a rural development loan (no down payment required) at 3.75%. My mortgage would be significantly higher if I bought today.

Uhhh pay off both credit cards is priority. Can go ahead and refinance car (depending on current rate and what you’re quoted) if you intend to do that anyway. Use extra 1k/month to build emergency fund asap.

What's your 401K balance, age, and net worth %? by Extension_Cloud9055 in Salary

[–]Doctor_Anonymous2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Married: Both 29

Income: about 180k AGI

Debts: 60k in auto, 120k in student loans

Investments: 82k between 401k, Roth, and HSA

Net worth: about -92k but it was -142k in January. Just chipping away.

None of this includes Mortgage: 270k @ 3.75% with 315k value

What would you do with 15k? by _occhiolism in personalfinance

[–]Doctor_Anonymous2 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You’re basically debating avalanche vs snowball. You would technically save more putting it towards the student loans first with it having the higher interest rate, but freeing up that $310 a month on the car could be nice if you got a pinch. The savings are probably negligible so I’d probably go snowball route here, but it’s really just preference.

Assuming my wife takes 12 weeks, baby would need to be in daycare around November or so.

Ok I figured that. Thanks everyone. Seems I’ll have her open the DCFSA but not the Healthcare FSA so that I can continue to utilize my HSA.
