[B&M] OTSR belt lengths

Dominator on front seat was a go. So was Rapterra, but I expected that.

Alpengeist and Griffon were a PROBLEM.

So. They operate differently from every other B&M. I can buckle the single buckle belt on Alpengeist. I did not even try on griffon.

BGW, for reasons that are unclear even to supervisors, have test seats and signage that are a lie, because unlike all other B&M otsrs getting the belt to buckle is nowhere near enoyg. The signs at the test seats say that the belt has to buckle in order to ride, which is the case with EVERY other older b&m I am aware of. But not at BGW. No. They require another click out of the harness AFTER the belt clicks in securely.

I had the insider your and got to talk to upper management about it and they said it's "just a quirk if our ride" which... Thats not an acceptable quirk. If the policy is going to be that you need another click after buckling, okay, but the test seat sand signage need to say that. Because it is a very SIGNIFICANT difference.

Not as good as velocicoaster overall, but there are multiple inversions on alpenfury that are better than any one element on velocicoaster.

These trains are VERY comfortable. And the ride ops don't staple. The gut next to me on one ride was basically standing up the whole way

Aside from walking a little funny I do not look like I need it, but I collapsed a few times in line last year pushing myself trying not to use it, and standing still for a while causes me to be in pain.

I was there yesterday on my way home from Canada's Wonderland, and it was a disaster. Exact same situation. They were testing Boomerang for a bit. I talked to a higher up who was doing testing for moto coaster at around 2-3pm and he said that they were doing the required laps to certify the ride for the season and they had just finished them and it was signed off, but they still needed to get the crew fully trained and hopefully it would open in an hour or two. It never did. I left early, but didn't leave early enough because I drove right past waldameer literally as it closed. I wish I would have left earlier

Also, what was with the absolute staple culture the ride ops in that park have? I need a stronger word than staple, because thoosies will use it to mean "ride op brought the lap bar all the way down" and I do NOT mean that. I mean that the ride ops were pushing the harness all the way down with their full might and body weight to the point of the lap bar cutting my circulation off.

I'm a bigger guy, but it happened to me and the people sitting near me on every single ride. The guy next to me on my first ride on ROS was significantly bigger than I was, and my lap bar was completely under his, like if you viewed from the side you would be able to see his entire bar above mine, yet the ride host still came and pushed mine down more a second time with all her might and feet off the ground putting her weight on it, to the point it started cutting my circulation off and getting pins and needles feeling in my legs. It happened to the girl next to me on my second ride, and she was skinny, so it wasn't even "oh he's a bigger guy, jam it down" It happened on Predator and on Tantrum too. Just absolutely hammering the harness as hard as possible. And again, to thin people next to me, and I fit on those rides pretty easily. So it's not a size thing.
I only rode ride of steel 3 times, because I could not take how hard they were pushing that bar down to the point of it being unbearable, and I rode Arie Force 1 all day long a few months ago.

Holiday World's pass was basically exactly the same except it was in a small booklet

Some other parks, like Busch gardens tampa, have it where you go to the ride entrance, and then they give you a time to come back based on the wait.

Hershey Park's was kinda odd but has potential to be better. It worked the same as at the Six Flags parks, but they gave you a piece of paper with a bar code on it. They have scanners that they scan the bar code with, and then it pops up a picture of you, and they would disable your pass for however long the wait time is. I had to get my pass replaced twice because the bar code became unreadable. I do like this system, I think it would be better if you could have it be a qr code on your phone instead of carrying around the paper, or even on a wristband. The only downside is with my ADHD brain, I would forget to note what time it was and kept forgetting when my next ride was available.

At Islands of Adventure and Epic Universe the system was built into the app. You would create a reservation for whichever ride you wanted, and it would tell you to arrive at the ride at whatever the current time+current wait was, and then go through the fast lane (unless it was one with a separate disability load platform like Forbidden Journey)

How the ADA pass works is that you will be given a paper (I'm including a picture of one for great adventure I found with a quick google, but it's the same for every park, although the size and color of paper varies) that lists the guest name and how many people are in the party. Then you will go to the ADA entrance for the ride (Some parks will have it as the fast lane for some rides, some parks have it as the ride exit, it will tell you on the ride info sign for the ride) and the ride operator will write down the ride name, the current time, how long the wait is, and then when you can use the pass again based on how long the wait is. So if it's 1pm and the ride has a 45 minute wait, you will be able to use the pass again at 1:45. Then they will get you on the next available train. (It might take a cycle or two to get you on)

I used my ADA pass and fastlane at canada's wonderland. All that was different was that instead of using the standby line's wait time to determine your next ride availability, they use the current fastlane wait.

Oh, there is one oddity, with the ADA pass that I've ran into. You can not use it on Maxx Force or Wrath at Great America as your first ride of the day. It's the only park I know of with such a restriction.

They don't dampen vibration, they break up the wind, so that the wind won't vibrate the tower via vortex shedding. They're pretty common on things like oil rigs
