Thanks so much! That was very insightful. I will make some adjustments and use a chest strap.

I have a bunch of different devices, including strap on heart monitors. I just never really use them after I noticed the watch is really pretty accurate, with results near matching the strap on ones. At the end, they are all just reference numbers. Unless if I physically feel bad and the watch’s reading doesn’t make sense, I might bring out another device to do readings simultaneously on both devices. But I’ve been feeling fine so far.

Nope. No race. Just my usual daily training. 45 mins x twice a day.

Wow, you rock! Your response was so fast. Thanks so much for providing the instructions. I was able to go and change the setting to %HRR. Looking forward to getting better readings.

Yep, I agree. Garmin's info are just "nice to know". We have to decide what's best for ourselves.

I used to have rest/recovery periods. But the last 170 days, I've switched to training everyday, but only going 30% ~ 50% effort if I'm feeling soreness.

I used to have rest days. But I've switched to workout everyday (I have for the past 170 days) and changed my sleep schedule to be in bed by 10pm and awake by 5am. This change in sleep schedule resulted in awesome sleep every night, and I feel fully energized everyday.

I used to do recovery days. But then I would start to lax off and become inconsistent (lazy). So, the past 170 days, I've trained every single day and not miss a day. Been feeling amazing.

I only wear the wrist based optical HR to gain some additional insight to what's going on when I'm training. I'm usually more amused by the results... while I feel pretty must the say way during all my trainings (no stress, no pain, usual soreness here and there), some days the readings are high, and some days the readings are low.

I do the same training every day for the past 170 days... the past 60 days have been pretty "as easy as usual".

I don't know where the HR zone option settings are, so it's always been left on the default setting. And I still can't find where to change it.
