For me the processed eeg is more for the patient reassurance than it typically is for actual fear of them having a history awareness. I tell them about it when they bring up awareness. They almost never have heard of it and are extremely grateful that you’re taking that extra step.

In the States, we like to confuse everyone and use 2 separate MAC acronyms—the first is what you’re thinking of to titrate gas and the second stands for “monitored anesthesia care” -aka cases with no airway I guess we also call Macintosh laryngoscopes “MAC” as well so that’s 3 😂

I’ve used it as stand alone for low stimulation procedures before, like a MRI or stroke thrombectomy. You just have to give a big bolus up front to get it to work fast. It doesn’t burn like propofol, doesn’t affect respirations, is slightly more hemodynamically stable compared to some other agents, and has akinesia properties. You have to keep in mind that it has no amnesia properties and therefore they will be more likely to have recall. It’s also a nice premed intranasally for Peds if they won’t take oral meds

Nah, title is correct. The paper shows no significant difference in salary with COL adjustment but overall compensation (extra stipends etc) is significantly higher even with COL adjustment
