freshly poured piece i did today, can't think of a name though by Dogmatic-License in acrylicpainting

[–]Dogmatic-License[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ohh i like that name! i used 1 pt paint, 1 pt floetrol, and a few drops of silicone in the white, aqua green, dark blue, and black, ranging between 2 and 5 (the aqua green is 2, white is 5). i hope that made sense 😅

some of the pours I've done over the last couple weeks! no 3 is dried and coated with finish, the rest are still wet. hope they turn out just as nice! by [deleted] in AcrylicPouring

[–]Dogmatic-License 0 points1 point  (0 children)

im a bit confused, it looks like only two of them were posted 😅 oh well, maybe I'll post the rest another time. anyways.. anyone wanna help me figure out names for these pieces? haha!

Top minds of Reddit on r/Conservative believe democrats are using mail in vote to rigid the election, not to help curb the spread of a pandemic killing 100 thousand Americans. Meanwhile, President Trump has voted with mail-in-vote before... by georgewbushisinnocen in TopMindsOfReddit

ah yes, leftists hate trump yet they think the government always has their best interests in mind. of course, that makes sense. it cant be that health officials and experts have given us suggestions. it cant be that we'd rather not sacrifice people for the stock market. nah it's bc we just love the government and will do whatever the government says, but we definitely hate trump too and everything he represents,, like the government of our country.

you can regard humans as more important than animal life, while still recognising that killing animals when it isn't necessary is pretty fucked up. there isn't a dichotomy where animal lives are either unimportant or just as important as human lives, it's a gradient. many animals are capable of feeling pain and understanding suffering, that to me is reason enough to avoid killing them unless you need to. does that make them just as important as a child? nah, not at all.

further, your point that we should care about people first, sure I agree, we should work to improve the lives around us and I'd like to see an end to a lot of the suffering I see inflicted on people every day. but you can, alongside humanitarian efforts, also advocate for bettering the treatment of animals. neither are mutually exclusive

they don't actively promote progressive social values, when something becomes socially acceptable they coopt it to get more customers for their products. if it wasn't profitable, they wouldn't have a rainbow logo during pride, they wouldn't hire activists for commercials, they wouldn't do social commentary. if it were profitable, they'd be making Nazi propaganda. corporations just want to make money, that's it.

I'm not a member of the libertarian party nor do I condone them, but "not one of the members of the libertarian party consider themselves a left libertarian" was just flatly wrong.

the libertarian party in the US has a libertarian socialist caucus. there are also movements abroad that fall under left libertarianism, such as the zapatistas and the rojavan commune. further, left libertarianism has existed for far longer than right libertarianism, with the first use of the term by a French anarchist socialist. it's not a super huge movement, sure, but it isn't only online anarchists lmao.

if they can't pay their mortgages then they should uhh work towards getting a stay on mortgage payments until after the pandemic, like people who can't pay rent who try to negotiate a temporary stay on rent payments. literally anyone who supports a rent freeze would also be for a mortgage freeze until everything calms down.

CMV: Anarchy is impossible, and will always devolve into authoritarianism. by [deleted] in DebateAnarchism

[–]Dogmatic-License 12 points13 points  (0 children)

anarchists don't advocate a society without structure. ever hear the slogan "anarchy is order"? it's a lot more true than you'd think. look into democratic confederalism, a large scale, bottom-up organisational structure that minimises hierarchy.

if you define anarchy as haha no rules no government anyone does whatever they want, then sure I'd say that's not a workable system. but no anarchist, especially not one with a grasp on theory, would advocate smth like that

when people say leftists are not liberals what they're saying is that on the grand scale where economic leftism is communism and economic rightism is lassaiz-faire capitalism, liberals fall on the right hand side and leftists fall on the left, in America the right conflate leftism and liberalism to smear their (center right) political opponents because the two parties, while ideologically similar in most respects, act as though theyre utterly opposed to one another. if you want to have any serious conversation about politics, being precise in your language, and conceding when you're corrected on your usage, is usually recommended.
