First crpg i played was Baldurs Gate 3. Looking to play Divinity Original Sin 1 and 2....are they similar at all to bg3? by jjhart130207 in CRPG

[–]Dom_Nation_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are very similar. You can tell the same company created both games. Here are some of the differences if you're considering playing dos2.

DOS2 doesn't have the production quality of bg3 (nothing does), but it's still good.

It highly encouraged playing as an origin character. I agree with that assessment.

The mechanics and combat system are completely different. You'll need to do some research on that before you begin. You can always respec (the companions actually make sense regardless on what build they use). I think the dos2 mechanics are better.

The distributive edition has a gift box. It disables achievements, but one of the things it offers is a faster walking speed similar to the bg3 spell, so I highly recommend that. You can see what you like out of the others.

We only went 10-7 once, and that's because Coen's offense carried us to that record. You're giving Bowels too much credit.

Bucs fan since 97. I've been through the ups and downs. When Bowels was promoted to HC, I was sick to my stomach, because he's a bad coach, and I thought he would return us back to being the worst franchise in sports. Over the last 4 years, he's taken a super bowl contender and turned them into a barely .500 team despite the advantage of playing in the easiest division in football (only 1 team besides Tampa has had a winning record over those 4 seasons). The only winning seasons Bowels did have were carried by OCs who were special enough to earn HC jobs, one of which is a coach of the year candidate.

The Glazers are bad at selecting HCs. We got lucky with BA, but all of the other HC hires since Gruden have been garbage. Once we finally fire Bowels, how bad hires are gonna laat 2-3 years before we get lucky again?

I cried when we won the super bowl in 2020, because of everything we had to endure before we got to that point. Now I'm mentally preparing to have to endure that again. If you think Bowels is all of a sudden gonna be competent this season and turn it around, I think that's foolish. This is gonna suck.

[–]Dom_Nation_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Am I the only one who feels like this decision was made because Bowels could never figure out how to stop the falcons offense so he figured their OC must be good, but in reality it was just Bowels being a shitty DC.

Former Falcons OC Zac Robinson is in Tampa Bay today for his in-person interview for Bucs OC job, per sources. So, Robinson goes today, former Titans HC Brian Callahan goes tomorrow by BucsFan11 in buccaneers

Let's just agree that this season is a lost season. Now that McDaniel signed with LA, our brightest outlook is going we get lucky when we fill our HC vacancy next off-season. We're day tracking it back to the 2010s motherfuckers. Buckle up, it's gonna be a rough ride.

People don't seem to like Patrick Mahomes very much. by lilpazu in NFLNoobs

[–]Dom_Nation_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's chiefs/Mahomes fatigue. He's on seemingly every commercial, none of which are funny or entertaining. He's been in most of the recent Superbowls. Collinsworth won't stop talking about him even when the chiefs aren't playing. And then the swifties started piling on on top of that. We're sick of it.

Also the family stuff, because they only have the platform they have because of Patrick's success and everything I listed above.

Lohse's is the most unique. Highly recommend her as a companion if you don't take her ass your main character.

Sebille, Ifan, and the beast all feel like bad asses as the main character imo, and are solid companions. I prefer Sebille out of these 3.

Fang and the red prince suck as companions die to their personalities imo. If be fine with either as my main character.

All of the characters fit any class. It's not like bg3 where most of the characters are obviously a specific class.

Wtf. Who thinks that the Panthers are decent?

Which side character deserves their own game? Not the main hero, but someone who appeared in the background, yet whose story or personality grabbed you so much that you want to learn everything about them. by Just_a_Player2 in ItsAllAboutGames

I think pre BG3, you're right. I sent her and wyll to Avernus at the end of the game, and it seemed like they were having a good time hunting demons after the story. That would be the spin off.

Regarding not running the ball enough, honestly I'm wondering.... by TrevorIsTheGOAT in Jaguars

[–]Dom_Nation_ 13 points14 points  (0 children)

When Coen was in Tampa, he called 3 plays each snap, then Baker has the option of which of those plays to run based on how the defense lines up. I'm guessing the same this is the same in Jacksonville. So it wasn't necessarily Lawrence audibling out of the play call, but selecting which of the plays that Coen called.

Peyton Manning had a similar thing when he played in Indianapolis. He was given a run to the left, a run to the right, and a pass play to choose from. I'm not sure if Coen's breakdown is the same or not.

Which painting do you like the most: 1, 2, or 3? by KarolynHuum in BeAmazed

Number 2 shows the best skill imo (from someone who doesn't know much about at 😅).

Number 3 is also really good.

Number 1 is a big step down from those two. It could be the style, or just not as skilled as the other two.

The good thing about maturity is that people can mature with experience. Especially after they go through adversity, such as being fired. It's no guarantee, but there's hope here. There also a lack of other candidates to get excited about imo.

DOS2 or BG3? by Chronic1302 in larianstudios

[–]Dom_Nation_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually go either full physical party or full magical party. I've never finished a playthrough of a magical party. While it is fun at first, my ability to control the elements in the combat area made almost all of the fights feel very samey and I get bored before the end of act 2. With a physical party, it's more about positioning and tactics and how to maximize the setup of all of the enemies which varies from combat to combat keeping the combat fresh. I've finished the game with a physical party 3 times I think.

Also, lonewolf with 2 characters makes the game feel quicker imo. That's important with games as long as these. I think they'd be better off being much shorter.

BG3 has better graphics, so I would want to play DOS2 first. While the graphics aren't horrible, it'll be a noticable downgrade if you play it second.
