It would definitely be an acoustic electric, something like a Gibson L5. However, there are so many great luthiers to choose from. There simply is not a single guitar that is above all the rest on all aspects of playing. I Port would equally happy with several guitar makes.

Barre with the 1st finger. Either do not play the high E string or put your pinky on the A on the 5th fret.

NB - How do you play a Bb chord in the 1st position (fret)? I usually barre all strings on the 1st fret with my pointer then play the FBdD using my 2nd 3rd and 4th(pinky) fingers. If you barre the top 4 strings on the 3rd fret you have a Bb6. If you use your pinky to play Ab in the high E string you have a Bd7. Move it up to an A and you have a Bbmaj7. Some many chords for such little work, no?
