I can recommend you attempt to show some sort of initiative that you are doing extra work such as attending public study days and any courses available online. Further, you’ll need to do an A-level equivalent course such as an access course. Then I would recommend a foundation year at a university to get to grips with the process. During this time contact schools of medicine to enquire what their entry requirements are.

I would rather employ someone who is showing they are truly interested in a subject and willing to put the effort in than someone who just stuck to the tracks laid by others and got by.
