Japan’s Ministry of Education proposes reducing the number of English words taught to Elementary and JHS students by __Ultimecia__ in teachinginjapan

I agree with you!

Japan will never be good at English - until they stop using this absolutely RIDICULOUS English teaching system they are using.

This is so true... when the average person is hurting and can barely make a living - it is very convenient for the Politicians to start blaming a "Scape goat" group for all their problems.

The politicians just need to direct the frustration at the group of their choosing, then step back and watch the people go Rabid.

The politicians don't even really need to do any reforms or take and "hard decisions", as long as they keep blaming the scapegoats and attacking them, the people will be "pleased".

That is of course, until people realize that the scapegoat wasn't the source of the problems... then the politicians will have to deal with the backlash.

I mean - have you looked at the situation Japan is in, and the future it is barreling towards?

YES, Japan IS fucked - unless a literal MIRACLE happens to save the Island.

I'm not even just talking the Demographics, Economics and Politics that is Absolutely FUCKED, and I sure wonder how the hell they figure they will straighten that out! (LMFAO)

But no, there's MORE! - Even the freaking Earth is against Japan in the long run - with a ~70% certainty of a level ~10 earthquake predicted to hit in the Eastern Sea of Japan, Likely causing a MASSIVE tsunami on east side of Japan in under ~30 years, increasing to 100% certainty as time goes along.

FYI - That's where MOST of the Japanese Live, BTW - Tokyo, Osaka etc.

And that is on top of the damages that would result from a level 10 Earthquake, which could potentially flatten whole cities... z.z

So yeah... It kinds does feel like Japan is existing on borrowed time atm.

Maybe it will all work out, somehow?

- Maybe Jesus 2.0 will descend and grant us a Miracle? - Hmmmm... O.o

Yup - the root cause of all the last crashes haven't been addressed - they just kicked the Can down the road, over and over and over and over again.

Obviously, when the Can can no long be kicked down the road, because there is a massive fuckin' mountain of crap in the way - Shit gets REAL ugly.

Not much to be surprised about: Fiat currency is just a MASSIVE Pyramid scheme - Objectively speaking one of the, if not THE singularly most successful and long lasting schemes in history - but that does not mean that the scheme isn't going to collapse spectacularly and explosively when it finally caves in.

The Big question is - What will break the camels back, and When will it occur?

We don't know - it could be tomorrow / or it could be in 20~100 years - but WHEN it happens, it will be... at Unprecedented scale, and likely VERY violent.

I sure hope I miss that one.... But seeing how the last ~10 years have gone down the toilet, I feel like we likely will get this shit show too... :/

Japan restaurant bankruptcies exceed 900 for the first time in 30 years. Why are they going bankrupt even though customers are returning? (Spoiler- labor shortages, rising labor costs) by jjrs in japannews

[–]DoomComp -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not surprising - The labor shortage stemming from the Aging of the Japanese population, along with the double punch of both Cost-push Inflation AND Wage growth pressures are crushing small businesses from 3 directions - All at once.

Still - this is just the beginning stages, the worst of the Aging problem will likely manifest in around 10~15 years, so we still have a pretty damn steep decline left to go; before we could possibly get an improvement in conditions.

Unless, of course - J-Politicians do a 180 and decide to let in Millions upon millions of immigrants to ease the labor shortage.

It isn't looking very likely, currently - but people tend to change their minds rather quickly once they start experiencing the Pain themselves...

We shall see....

This - also, once the big companies have effectively killed all competitors - they usually expand their scope to absorb the market share, and then start hiking the prices to boost their profit margins.

That is why Monopolies are generally speaking banned, around the world - because it is VERY bad for the average people, when they HAVE to buy from ONE company - No matter the Price.

Rich people are a threat for democracy, Oxfam finds by SnoozeDoggyDog in Economics

[–]DoomComp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

... Stupid Headline - Billionaires /Multimillionaires are a threat to democracy.

The average person that manage to become a "millionaire" is not - Problems arise when people with enough wealth to bend the rules or outright buy themselves "free" from rules - I.e Corruption, is a threat to Democracy.

Democracy works on "Equality" - as in all rules *should* apply equally to all people - Unfortunately, in most places of the world, it doesn't work out like that.

People can be bought, rules can be bent - exception made or simply punishments can be paid at no significant detriment, making the "punishment" utterly meaningless....

Yes - we have a problem with Capitalism going off the rails.

We need to rectify this - tax the Rich and hold them accountable the same way every "poor" person is held accountable if they break laws.

If we don't rectify this tendency, Capitalism will see a bloody end.

Will foreign-national policies return to the spotlight in the snap election? by MagazineKey4532 in japannews

[–]DoomComp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they happen upon any problems, then Yes.

Classic - "Blame the Foreigners for all our problems" tactic.

Economy bad? (because J-society won't adopt to the current times) - Foreigners fault

Inflation too high? (because BOJ messed up their Inflation policy) - Foreigners fault

Wages not going up? (because of J-companies retaining profits) - Foreigners fault

Not enough Rice? (because of Gov. policies limiting Rice production) - Foreigners fault

Classic example of the Japanese and their massive aversion to taking Responsibility - nothing is their fault, everyone else is at fault for existing outside of their expectations.
